Yea, he'd be good for the PS. I think he has potential. He just needs work.

He still has his suddenness, but he's lost a lot of glide. Sad really.

Ayers is cut. So much for his threat to not sign to the PS.

Well that might still happen. He doesn't have to go to the PS. In fact, if I was a WR, I wouldn't want anywhere near the Steelers PS. No clear path to promotion.

True. And that's assuming Ayers was ahead of Tucker and Hamilton in the pecking order. With him, Hamilton, and Coates gone now, who do you think makes the WR corps? Mainly who makes your 5th/6th WR spot.

Hunter-Ben likes the height and he showed vs Panthers he can get vertical. (also, if Bryant hits the bong again Hunter likely becomes the #2 WR)
DHB- Tomlin is his biggest fan.

I think I agree with that. I like Hunter to be #5, and if we keep a 6th this season, has to be DHB.

I predict Ayers will be on another NFL PS in about 36 hours. No benefit to staying here. Path is blocked by superior talent. Go take a chance in NY Jets, Bills, Rams, etc. Some team with less stacked talent in the room.

I will say this, while I am not necessarily a fan of all the moves the team made in the past 24 hours or so, this is the ballsiest roster I have ever seen out of Tomlin and company.

Favored youth over vets in several places. Cut ties with draft picks. Picked a few "upside athletes" over steady veteran football players, etc.

Even a few years ago, Watson, Grimble, Allen, etc don't make roster over some other more traditional options.

And they don't sign a player for 9 millions per year!

After last year's WR Dumpster fire of injuries and suspensions, I wouldn't be so sure of that.

Even if he doesn't come a future starter, I can see him being used as a guy that can cover these big fast tight ends.

Don't get to happy he will get cut for a long snapper or a kick returner on waivers tomorrow.

Colin Holba cut. After he was drafted, Colbert defended the pick and talked about how difficult it was to get a long snapper with the physique of a lineman.
Can't be too happy about that.

I have to wonder if Holba thought he was guaranteed to make it after being drafted as a LS. Thought he had it in the bag and just coasted through TC and preseason. Kind of how i feel about Cockrell and Coate as well. No room on this team for coasters anymore. I love it!

    Would be surprising.

They may just throw T.Watson back to return kicks and just take a knee.

Sutton will go on IR, and Bell will sign his tag.

Actually would like to see them throwing Watson back at kicks. He would be a force to bring down once he has that speed going.

    Not a bad idea.

I don't remember many kickoffs being returned beyond the 25 this presesason.

Too many starts at the 18, 19, 21.....yard lines.

    Agreed.

Unless it's prime Devin Hester, or Tyreek Hill, do the team a favor and take a knee. This offense will be fine starting at the 25 yard line.

That's fine in theory except a lot of team pooch kick-offs to expose teams with bad ST units. We'll just use Coty/Brown more than likely.

Too often. We've never had a true KR threat since Woodson.

They cut Senquez Golson too. He never got on the field and should have never been drafted. Anybody with a pair of eyes saw it from a mile away. Sometimes the coaches get caught up in fantasy land.

They had Boykin but opted not to use him. He was a returner in college and some with the Eagles from my understanding.

The days of Gary Russell, Najeh Davenport, Dri Archer, etc...they're gloomy times...like "1980s Steelers Gloom".
