He just signed w/Tampa earlier this year..free agent from the cowgirls.
It was obvious that the steelers were going to add a safety.....
38 starts in the league all with the Cowboys , he is best as a box safety/SS in 2015 Dallas has him listed as a s/Lb/SS/fs
that is not to say he can not cover because he can just better suited closer to LOS
I like it he is not on his last leg and has starter exp
Nice pickup.
Damn. Who replaced Colbert with this

One definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result - the most recent Pats blowout appears to have convinced Colbert maintaining the status quo will get the Steelers to the playoffs but not where they want to go
I like this summation on what is going on (just the tweet - do not subscribe to obtain article)
Games Def Interceptions Fumbles Sacks & Tackles Year Age Tm Pos No. G GS Int Yds TD Lng PD FF Fmb FR Yds TD Sk Tkl Ast Sfty AV 2013 22 DAL ss 27 13 5 0 0 0 0 1 22 16 2 2014 23 DAL FS 27 16 16 3 46 0 46 5 1 1 2 11 0 69 12 7 2015 24 DAL FS/lb/s/ss 27 16 13 1 24 0 24 3 0 0 1 0 0 32 16 5 2016 25 DAL ss 27 13 4 1 8 0 8 6 1 0 0 0 0 33 12 2 Career 58 38 5 78 0 46 15 2 1 3 11 0 156 56 16
At least they are trying to build a winner. Get the players together and see what happens not to mention some good play be recent FA signings in the Carolina game could indicate a lucky streak.
All Defense!
Glad they finally added safety depth.
I'm starting to feel bad for that 6th round pick, thought he was home only to get sent away again![]()

You could say the Steelers won August. Let's hope their recent splash actually translates
Sutton will go in IR when Bell will sign, but the question is who is going to be the other player who is going to be released or go on IR.
I know the teams can have 2 players in IR who can return later in the season but I hope that Mitchell's injury is not serious ...
Golden is going to IR too.
All Defense!
I agree with your post and the sentiment in the Tweet. I posted in another thread that this Tomlin's "ballsiest" roster. Keeping an athlete like Grimble over DJ. Keeping Watson over French Cafe. Hilton over Cockrell. I could go on.
They picked the athlete and youth almost every time. Only time that didn't happen was Coates over DHB/Hunter. Like someone else said, that likely came down to Coates had trade value - the other two did not.
Tomlin and Colbert finally subscribed to that hocus pocus.
2 years 8.5. Ward was 1 for 5. Did they make the right decision given that the money was about the same?
I can see him being a 3rd down dime backer.
VW comes off, Wilcox replaces him.
One has said that with all the move that the steelers had made in the last few days,Ben should've started the retirement talk a bit earlier!
I don't know what to say. I thought I would never see it again. But, that's a young safety who delivers hits but also wraps up and drives through the tackle.
I bet he's a time traveler.
I know it is highlight packages and there is a reason(s) that he has burned through 2 rosters in a short career, but I like him better than Robert Golden already.
