Impressive week 1 and wasn't given a snap in week 2. Don't think it had anything to do with Conner's debut. I expect not to see him much if all the rest of Preseason. I think there trying to keep him on the down low and hope they can get him to the PS without other teams showing interest. You Sneaky Steelers would have got a way with it but I'm on to you.
PS I hope you do at least get him on the practice squad and like what I seen in him in his limited time in week 1.

Frenchy I think was good as gone and not in the Steelers plans this season. Why they been playing him like crazy in the preseason and trying to showcase him for other teams. We got Bell starter, Conner backup and Watson 3rd rb. I like it and Davis might have a chance if the decide to keep 4. If not oh well, I had high hopes for Davis after seeing him come in for Charles in KC and do well. Since he's been here not to impressive.

It's a mistake to place Watson on the PS. He is a perfect #2.

No way Watson makes it to the practice squad now unless he fumbles 4 times in the next game. Would be a shame to keep Davis or Frenchy over him. We already seen there peak and right now Watson looks better then both a has big upside. Also Davis doesn't look like anything special returning kicks and sure anybody else would do just as good.

Watson may make the PS. Every team has a guy like Watson in camp.
Do I think that exposing him to the entire league is the best option? Now, but it would be pretty standard practice. RBs are the easiest quality players to find.

Thing is, with Bell, and Conner already locks, who cares about a 3rd RB? Take the guy with the biggest ST upside. IMO, that's Davis.
That workout real well for us in the playoffs two years ago when Bell and Williams was both out. You take the guy with more talent and it's a long season and you never know what is going to happen. Besides like mention Davis don't look more then average at special teams.

The coaches have a better view than any of us on here. We'll see how it all falls out. I just want the best TEAM they can build. If that is indeed Watson, perfect. Right now, I'm leaning Davis.
Agreed and pretty sure that's what we all want, to field the best team. Conner looks good but not sure he could carry the load alone if Bell misses significant time. I think he and Watson in RBBC could do rather well though without Bell. Anyhow I'm calling it now that Watson makes the 53 and all the guy has been doing since he got here has impressed every time he has being called upon. Camp and Preseason.

Who knows they may keep 4 rb's but if it is for ST reasons I'd rather they keep 35 at rb over Davis and he looks a lot better returning punts then Davis does returning kicks. This comes from someone who was happy to get Davis after watching him in KC. He looks like he lost a step or something since his days filling in for Charles. One thing is for sure Frenchy will get his walking papers after Thursday night.
Again no way Watson doesn't get claimed before making it to the practice squad.
I see where you are coming from, but every year there are a dozen "Mr. August" RBs around the league. Watson looks serviceable, but he doesn't look special.

Who the hell is Corey Grant? Preseason rushing yards leader. Doesn't matter. He is buried behind FOurnette and Yeldon. Looking up and down the list, there are about 3 guys that we've all heard of before and then there are the "Watson" of every team.
Does that mean he sails through to the PS? Of course not, but I am not aware of a ton of NFL teams that are so thin at RB that they are going to rush to make Watson a member of their 53 man roster when he has no time to learn their system. The real threat is that he decides that another team offers a better path from PS to roster than the Steelers. With Bell and Conner as the top two and their youth -- that would be a reasonable decision.
I hope they give Watson sometime tonight to show why he should make the 53. If they don't and are thinking of hiding him for PS I think it's to late.
