The Steelers received some good news about rookie running back James Conner of Pitt, who injured his left shoulder on Sunday and had his arm in a sling the past two days.
The injury is considered minor and Conner could return to practice later this week.
Meantime, cornerback Senquez Golson, a No. 2 draft choice in 2015 who has missed each of the past two seasons with injuries, will be out longer after injuring his hamstring on Sunday. Conner and Golson were each sent to Pittsburgh on Monday to be evaluated, coach Mike Tomlin said.
The players had a mandated day off and did not practice Tuesday
