    The Wait For Smith-Schuster Worthwhile

Well, that was worth the wait. After JuJu Smith-Schuster had missed most of training camp with an ankle injury, the receiver returned to steal the show during his first padded practice, making several outstanding catches and putting on a clinic in the one-on-one blocking drills.

“I’m getting closer to 100 percent,” Smith-Schuster said. “Obviously the first day back, I’m still kind of sore, hopefully by tomorrow or the next day I’ll feel good. Feels good to be back out here in pads running around with the guys.”

Smith-Schuster looked like a veteran on several plays, running excellent routes in individual period, before standing out several times in the team sessions. His most impressive catch was a highlight reel grab along the sideline, in which Smith-Schuster swiveled his body around on a back shoulder throw and snagged the ball away from his frame while dragging his feet inbounds..........

Hoping to see him in the slot with Brown and Bryant outside. Could be deadly.

Comes across as someone with the attitude coaches want - the anti-Bryant

JuJu Smith-Schuster, the Steelers’ No. 2 pick, made several outstanding catches in his first day practicing in pads, including a diving two-handed grab on the sidelines.

But what excited him was being able to tutored Wednesday by the Steelers’ all-time receiving leader, Hines Ward, who was at camp helping with the wideouts. It was especially curious because the Steelers receivers were doing blocking drills — Ward’s specialty — during practice.

After practice, Ward ran with Smith-Schuster and talked.

“I was asking him about what he did to get to this level and how he was able to be one of the greatest guys to come through this organization,” Smith-Schuster said. “It’s super valuable. You take a guy like that, you keep picking at his ear and his brain — what can I do"

    Indeed.
The comparisons between JuJu ("Bee") and Hines Ward are legitimate.

Comparisons to Hines are valid, but I see him as more of a Anquan Boldin type receiver.

If he can get Hines Ward or Anquan Boldin type numbers, that is what I want to see. Give me the numbers and production of either one.

I'm expecting these signs on game day

On draft day, "Who did we just pick in round 2?!"

After his 1st padded practice, "Awesome 2nd round pick!"

Damn! I love being a fan.

He sounds like he may have more natural physical ability than Hines to boot.

Bryant's work ethic and attitude isn't what's bad. He's just dumb.

We do one thing well that's for sure and that's picking wide receivers. I would say that we have an embarrassment of riches at that position. Brown and Bryant outside with Juju and Rogers inside. Bell in the backfield, could motion him out with Juju or Rodgers...GTFOH! Good luck stopping that.
