every year this happens. not surprised anymore.
I know it's bound to happen this time of year... still sucks balls regardless.
But hey... they're all in great shape. Football ready they say.
Bring back DeAngelo Williams if it's serious.
It would really blow if James is hurt. Hopefully it is not too serious, but being sent back to Pittsburgh is not a good sign.
@ This point you have to figure Conner's shoulder is pretty bad.
Agreed. If I was Bell I would hold out for as long as humanly possible. I've always wondered if there are two types of holdouts. The ones that the team is actually pissed off and the one where the team has kinda "blessed" it through back-channels and really doesn't care.
With all the other backs in camp, I kinda fell like it could be a situation where no one cares that Bell isn't around?
Also, someone better dig up DWill's phone # if Conner's shoulder is exploded.
I have problems with Bell on other things, but I have no problems with his absence, since the training camp is not very important for a veteran running back.
I would be very upset if Bell would still be absent in the regular season, but I would be very surprised if that is the case.I expect Bell to return around the 4th pre-season game.
This is not a huge story for me,his absence.
I hate preseason
Is it time to sign Williams at RB?
I've yet to understand the Davis over DWill move. From the player vs player POV.
P-G reporter Ray Fittipaldo not optimistic about several injuries in the secondary
Golson and Sutton have been out for a week or more and don’t appear close to returning. Neither player has done any conditioning work on the side during practices, which is usually a sign injured players are making progress....
Sutton’s rookie camp is starting to mirror what Burns went through last year....
Injuries aren’t just wreaking havoc at corner. Starting free safety Mike Mitchell exited the first practice with an injury and hasn’t practiced since.
This was the first-team defensive backfield the past few days: Robert Golden and Sean Davis at safety and Coty Sensabaugh and Cockrell at corner. And it could remain that way Friday night when the Steelers play the preseason opener against the Giants.

IT may be true that the DBs are ravaged by injuries and that it leads to several "lost" seasons or even the end of a career or two.
But did anyone else notice what was missing from Fittipaldo's piece? Not one quote from a trainer, team medical staff, unnamed staffer, etc. How hard can it be to email, text, call, stalk at the facilities, or whatever someone that actually knows the following:
1. What the team thinks the injury recovery times should be and 2. what their general level of concern is.
Wouldn't that article read better with this sentence in it:
"Team medical personnel indicated that Golson and Sutton are still a few weeks from returning, but are pleased with their progress and expect both players to be ready for the second or third preseason game."
Or whatever the actual "answer" is.
