Ayers would be good to keep on the PS.

As far as DHB vs Coates vs Hunter??? DHB is probably the best Special Teams player but he's getting older and health is a concern.

Coates is Edward Scissorhands and his confidence is a huge question mark.

    I wouldn't sleep on Hunter.
Of Hunter, Coates, DHB, I think we should hang on to 2. WR corps would look like, AB, Bryant, Rogers, JuJu, Hunter, and Coates/DHB. Coates showed ST ability last season. He's a younger version of DHB, I don't know their money hits. Ayers could beat out both of them with some preseason game magic but I doubt it. From what I'm hearing about camp, Hamilton is almost certain to be cut. Same with Severin, if he's even practicing.

I think Hunter will give DHB a run but I agree with this. I'm hoping maybe Hunter could fetch a TE via trade if one is available, Jesse James has been inconsistent in camp so far.

    Not surprising.

I wouldn't sleep on Hunter. (high draft pick who has never had a high caliber QB like Ben).

I would love to see a 4 wide set with AB, Bryant, Coates, and Hunter.
I'd take Rogers over Coates or Hunter in that set.

If Coates is healthy, he has shown he can be a game changer, more so than Hunter has ever shown. Add in the fact he's good on special teams, and he's under contract for another year, makes him likely he stays on the 53.

I believe that it's time for DHB to go. He plays hard and he plays special teams, but this team needs as many weapons as they can put on the field. The last several years, there have been injuries to offensive skill position starters, and the drop off to guys like DHB is like falling off a cliff from a talent perspective. I hope they learned their lesson after not having enough fire power when a few WR's go down.

DHB should not be on this roster IMO. He is a liability at WR.

I completely agree. I heard this exact same thing this morning on SNR. I love that app, its the best thing for us out of town fans.

Still hoping he plays well in the PS to challenge for a roster spot, or at the very least becomes potential trade bait.

Jets need WRs like crazy. They could get Jordan Matthews, but a late round pick for Hunter would be nice.

Jeff McNeill: Who has been most surprising good and bad so far?

Alex: Good: I think you gotta give it to Hilton. A lot of time spring puff pieces are just that. Puff pieces. But he’s the real deal.

Bad: I knew Cobi Hamilton wouldn’t be great. But even based on low-ish expectations, he’s been bad. Hands don’t look as good as they did last year.

Rogers (supposedly) wasn't 100% last year. I wonder if he'll show more speed. He made some good catches last year but it seemed like his YAC was limited.

Said this months back and Bey, Ayers and Hamilton won't make the 53. Brown, Bryant, Rogers, Coates, JUJU and Hunter will.

Ps I wouldn't trade Hunter for anything less then a 5th and who knows after last year he may become very important at some point.

They'd be my picks too, but somehow I think Tomlin will find a reason to keep DHB. It would be a mistake IMO due to the talent they'd have to cut.

And DHB should be able to catch on with another team... or come back with us after an injury at some point.

If that is the case then Tomlin will be pulling a Cowher hanging on to old vets when there is better younger talent.

    I'll add this...

DHB is a good lockerroom guy.

That's why I could see him coming back after an injury. Speed dial.

So was Kordell but sexual preference should have nothing to do with the situation.

Also just the point and a Cowher move to keep a vet passed his prime.

He won't! Glad he did good though and hope that helps him to make another roster.
