Yeah, I've seen from multiple accounts that Justin has been pretty good these past couple of days. Good.
but...
When Hunter came out of college a few years ago, I thought he had a huge upside. He has everything you want in a WR physically. He's tall, fast, great leaping ability, and extremely athletic with long limbs. He has good hands and was a high jumper in school.
The questions about him have been his weight and strength(he has played a little light), and his desire and toughness IMO. Heart means so much in the game of football. How badly does he want it? If he strives to be great, I believe he can be.
I was super high on him coming out of college. I don't think he put everything he had into being the best WR he could be. Being in a winning environment and watching AB work his ass off and push him while also having a HOF caliber QB motivate him and throw to him will hopefully be the inspiration he needs to max out his potential.
The guy can be absolutely scary if he puts it all together because from a physical standpoint, he has as much talent as anyone.
I hope Coates comes back and makes this the toughest competition for the rest of preseason.
Hamilton was our 2nd WR on outside for the second half of the season and in the playoffs last year.
Useless to say, Bryant is going to be a big upgrade to Hamilton.
someone please call Anquan Boldin...he's a perfect fit for what we need until we know whats going on with everyone else.
1. Graham Barton, C, Duke 2. Ricky Pearsall, WR, Florida 3. Maason Smith, DT, LSU 3. Max Melton, CB, Rutgers 4. Blake Fisher, OT, Notre Dame 6. Tommy Eichenberg, ILB, Ohio State 6. MJ Devonshire, CB, Pittsburgh
True. But people have hit the panic button due to the margin of the loss. Add in our lost opportunities due to poor playmaking, and we are in this game to the end. No way our defense was going to slow down the Pats in that game. If we could have kept pace scoring, maybe 1 forced error by our defense changes things enough.
This is the way the steelers lost.
But I don't want to go back on that since we had the whole off-season to talk about it, but the steelers have rarely been competitive against the pats since our offense has no margin of error.
The pats have only had a drive with a Punt in the AFC title game!...It takes a entire team effort to win against them.
Cobi Hamilton = Lee Mays without the fanfare or better than average speed
Remember last season when everyone loved this guy? He's the easiest cut on the roster.

Q:Over a week into camp, what WR make the team? What WR get cut?
Gerry Dulac: AB, Bryant, JuJu, Rogers, Coates and DHB.

I think Hunter will give DHB a run but I agree with this. I'm hoping maybe Hunter could fetch a TE via trade if one is available, Jesse James has been inconsistent in camp so far.

Injuries forced us to play Cobi Bryant last year. He was basically a 7th string walk on.
He would be the first to go IMHO.
Ayers would be good to keep on the PS.
As far as DHB vs Coates vs Hunter??? DHB is probably the best Special Teams player but he's getting older and health is a concern.
Coates is Edward Scissorhands and his confidence is a huge question mark.
I wouldn't sleep on Hunter. (high draft pick who has never had a high caliber QB like Ben).
I would love to see a 4 wide set with AB, Bryant, Coates, and Hunter.
