    Fleury's possible last act in Pittsburgh

    Marc-Andre Fleury is a good person. That’s not reason enough to keep him around — salary cap considerations and the presence of a better alternative in Matt Murray accomplish that just fine.


    But that fact about Fleury, based on the words of everyone he’s ever played with and his own track record in the community, is a driving force behind the Penguins’ current predicament. If he were half as good a guy as he is, the end of his time in Pittsburgh would be a lot easier for folks to swallow. This would all be easier if he were a jerk. People would be more rational, if nothing else.


    For the last 14 years, though, we’ve heard and seen the testimonials, which reached a crescendo last week when the Penguins’ breakup day morphed into an ad hoc wake for Fleury ahead of Wednesday’s NHL expansion draft. Fleury isn’t your standard teammate or your standard person..............
