How improved will Special Teams be?

Maybe the toughest question to answer at this point. A lot of disappointment with ST last season. A lot of grumblings about the coordinator too. Now we could be losing ST standouts in the process of progress. Example? DHB and VW for starters. Both have been ST leaders, and DHB may not make the final 53 due to depth at WR. VW will be our starting ILB, will he still be running full steam down the field to train wreck into blockers/ball carriers on ST this season? I would think, no. Does Rosey Nix/Stephen Johnson make the 53? 2 more ST mainstays that could be getting upgraded at their current roster spots. Not trying to throw any negativity, just thinking.

The important thing is that the ST are not one of the worst of the NFL and that our kicker continues to be great in FG

The steelers were 16th and 18th in the last 2 years.

Look at other teams and you'll see that some other teams are worse than us!

I remember a game of the Panthers in 2014, that 2 of their punt was blocked in the same games !!!

And remember in 2009 when the steelers had given 4 KR for a TD in 5 games !!!

Thank god that now teams kick at the 35-yard line!

I would be really surprised if Rosey Nix didn't make the 53.

Think I can say we at least have a legit kick returner.

Knile Davis is a huge improvement over Coates, and Fitz.

Will he get help from the blockers? we'll see.

Saw on SteelerDepot somewhere, can't locate it again, a prediction for Ayers. It said for Ayers to make the 53 he needs to beat AB for PR. Thoughts?

Boswell to me has pro bowl ability as a kicker. Berry had a very good year punting the ball. We drafted a long snapper, so you'd think he'll be flawless.

The kick coverage units are solid, and less important these days due to the stupid rule that moved kickoffs five yards back and curtailed returns.

I think the kick return game could be a bit better. Wheaton is gone, and Brown has too much value to return punts. K Davis could upgrade us here.
