I can't shake the feeling that the Steelers were slow-playing Round 1 of the draft for months. I think Watt was the guy all along, but they didn't think he would be there. So take him and Biegel out to dinner. Mumble something about a 2nd round grade. If this new OLB tandem works out, it is going to be a classic Steelers draft story. Sit back in the tail end of the 1st round and catch a falling prospect (Dupree and Watt).
As to TE. I'm starting to try and put myself in the shoes of Colbert - working on the assumption that I am pretty sure Green isn't going to play in 2017. I have a 22 year old TE going into his 3rd year as a pro. Making only about 1 year older than the rookies in this class -- but 2 years more developed. Then we should remember that James was a bit of a combine "star" in 2015 -

While I don't buy that 4.5 forty time - the rest is fairly accurate. So now I have a guy that measures out the same as the later round size prospects in the draft and I know he can block at least a little (damn little, but moving on..). Long story short, if James came out
this year - where would he have been drafted and how would everyone have felt about him being on the team?
