Maybe Randy Bullock didn’t have time to pack his shoes.
Bullock gave his postgame interview in a Texas A&M golf shirt, jeans and bare feet. He’d just kicked three field goals in a Steelers’ 24-14 win against the Giants that started about 48 hours after his most immediate concern was finishing a round of golf in Houston.
“I got the call, jumped on a plane and came out,” Bullock said. “Most of the time, you don’t get a call on Friday. That was kind of last minute, but you’ve got to be prepared to get up and go whenever the opportunity calls”
This was all necessitated by Chris Boswell’s Friday abdominal injury. Bullock flew to Pittsburgh early Saturday morning, signed around 8:30 a.m., took part in the walkthrough, got some extra time in with holder Jordan Berry and long snapper Greg Warren, and voila.
“[We’d] really just been working our tails off in terms of identifying Randy and getting him up to speed,” coach Mike Tomlin said.......
