    The Positives from Today (Crickets)

    1. We play best when we are underdogs and under the radar and we were able to accomplish both in only 3 hours.

    2. The defense is young and should be much better as the season progresses.

    3. Bell is back.

    4. I am willing to bet we make the playoffs and at that point anything can happen.

I can agree with that for everyone except J. Jones. He is a backup at best.

    I. Not confident the defense will get much better than they are...the LB corps outside of Harrison isn't good...

Actually, the Browns played better than we did.

    Our kicker is just better.

    2-1 > 0-3

Although we are reaching 2013 levels of no pass rush/no turnovers, I'll take the record for now.

At least it was a non-conference game... Winning our division is the first priority.

Berry was positive. The loss to the Eagles wasn't a loss to the Ravens Browns or Bengals.

we're 2-1 with two of those games being on the road, an NFC loss doesn't influence tie breakers and we now get Le'Veon Bell back...

Re: The Positives from Today (Crickets)

    The positives? Easy:

    Ben didn't get injured.
    Brown didn't get injured.
    Bell returns next week.

This team will go as far as those three can take it. The D isn't going to be good at any time this season

Defense is a MAJOR problem! Like i said in an earlier thread if we dont score at least 24-30 points in each and every game then we will have quite a few losses. I dont see us scoring like that to be honest...we scored a measly 3 points on sunday! Bell coming back is not instantly give us a boost...gonna take him at least a couple games

I know that the defense played horribly on Sunday, but one positive is that as of right now, the Steelers still have the 4th ranked rush defense.

why run when it's so easy to pass on us?

Cousins, Dalton and Wentz all passed for over 300 yards against us...

Re: The Positives from Today (Crickets)

    I can name several...

    1) It was an NFC loss. As far as losses go (tie-breaker-wise) it's about as good as you can have.

    2) It is only one loss. Just because it was by 31 points does not mean hat it counts as more of a loss than a 21-22 loss.

    3) It was an early loss. There is still many, many games to improve/correct what was wrong.

I disagree. Again, we have three rookies and two starters on D, another CB with no playing time who is out until mid-season, and had a slew of injuries that game. Don't let one game taint what they did in the first two games . . . 1 TD allowed per game. In today's NFL, that's an excellent stat no matter what.

As the young players mature this season, we absolutely have an "average" defense this year, and I'd give it a 50/50 chance we end up with a good defense in the two stats that matter the most—points allowed per drive and TDs allowed. After all, no stat but points scored matters at the end of the day. Sure, they can be used as indicators, but those two are the most important ones.

BTW, Arizona? Where abouts? (PM me if you don't want to announce it on the main board. I'm in the same general area).

Re: The Positives from Today (Crickets)

The positive about the Eagle game was this. It was absolutely the least important game on the schedule from the standpoint of the Steelers remaining season at the time. It was a non conference road game. We had already won our other non conference road game. You take that split virtually any year you get it. If you hold your home non conference games you've aced that part of your schedule.
