Terry Bradshaw thinks Ben Roethlisberger is best QB

PITTSBURGH -- Terry Bradshaw's opinion of NFL quarterbacks will be felt in New England and Green Bay.

Bradshaw calls Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger the league's best passer in an interview with Steelers.com this week. Bradshaw is a Fox NFL Sunday analyst and four-time Super Bowl winner as the Steelers quarterback from 1970 to '83.

"I would rate Ben right on top of the list, ahead of [Tom] Brady for sure and anybody else, [Philip] Rivers, Eli [Manning]," Bradshaw told the website. "He is big, strong and poised."

I never thought he was the best but I always had him Top-5 and I'd call him #2 behind Rodgers currently.

Rogers is great, no doubt about it, top three for sure, but I don't think he can do anything Ben can't. Ben has the arm, the accuracy and is easily the toughest QB in the league, that's why I've always put him ahead of any other QB in the league.

With a WR core that struggled to get open, and playing behind an average o-line, Rodgers put up 31 TD's and 8 ints last season. He's the best in the game.

Brady is 2nd, Ben 3rd and Newton & Wilson are interchangeable for 4, 5.

Agree that Rodgers is the best, but last year it was a really bad year for him for his standard.His YPA was awful and TD/INT was only his Good stats, especially in his last 10 games.

But the Packers were terribly coached last year,.Jon Gruden has shown a stats the another time that Rodgers had attempted 200 passes of one yard or less last year!...I can not believe it!

Throwing to Cobb & Adams, I can see why his YPA were down, those guys aren't good enough to be a down field threat(He completed just 60%, they were really that bad). Still crazy how he posted that TD/INT ratio.

Completely agree on the coaching. I believe it's one of the reason why they haven't got deep in the playoffs since their SB win.

This could be the year that Ben takes the #1 spot. Brady will start the decline. AR will show himself overrated a bit. The could really be the peak of Ben's prime.

Ben was 14-1 his rookie year and his only loss was to a cheatriots team that, according to Hines Ward, "was calling out our plays at the line". That year all the credit went to the D not to Ben. His 2nd year he lead us to the Super bowl, but played a very poorly in that game. That being said we would not have been there if it had not been for his passing leading us over many quality opponents. In 43 he could have just as easily been the MVP as well as James Harrision, but instead it was Santonio. He has taken us to 3 and won 2 so on that alone I will put him higher than Rodgers.

I understand why people rate Rodgers so high, and if we didn't have Ben I would want him, but I seriously don't get all the credit given to shady brady. The team cheated so you have to ask just how good would he be on a level playing field. Not only was the cheating with illegal filming of other teams, but also the communications to his helmet would stay on when they should have been cut off. For his cheating I have absolutely no respect for him or his team.

It is interesting to ponder. I don't think Belichick would be as successful without Brady and vice versa, whereas Ben has won SBs with two different head coaches and two different OCs.

Brady would never be able to take the physical punishment that Ben has.....and the league protects Brady much more than Ben....we all know it. I'm biased, but I think Ben is the best in the business.

In some ways he and Bradshaw are similar. Both gun slingers, both could take a beating, both love to throw the ball into traffic to make a play, both got better as there careers progressed.

The Steelers have had double-digit wins in each of the last two seasons in what has possibly been the toughest division in the entire NFL. They are not only my pick to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl in February, but I am taking the Steelers to win the whole thing. But that isn't without reservations.
The Steelers are still a revolving door along the offensive line and once again, they will start the season with Le'Veon Bell serving a multi-game suspension. To make matters worse, they will be without breakout reciever Martavis Bryant for the entire season, but even with all of that, this Steelers' offense is the most dynamic and explosive unit in all of football. If Big Ben stays healthy, he will be wearing his third Super Bowl ring. ~Brian Billick
