Correct. No reason for the Broncos to keep him if he's not the starter. They will need to sign a veteran backup though.

The Broncos will still likely win at least 10 games and make the playoffs with that defense along with a 1,000 yard RB and 2 receivers that managed to reach 1,000 yards last year. Last year Peyton led the league by a lot in the first 9 games before he was benched and the Broncos were 7-2 in those 9 games
