NEW ORLEANS - Mission accomplished. If the idea was to getBen Roethlisberger a little bit of work in order for him to be up to speed for the regular season opener on Sept. 12, things couldn’t have worked out better than they did tonight in the Superdome.

Roethlisberger played two series, and he was 2-for-2, as in two touchdowns scored on drives of 74 yards in 15 plays and then 79 yards in four plays. He ended the first with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Jesse James after sliding to the right in the pocket to create some space to make the throw, and he ended the second with a perfectly thrown deep pass to Antonio Brown on a third-and-short. During his time on the field, the Steelers were 3-for-3 on third down, and his stats line after two series was 12-of-17 for 148 yards, with two touchdowns, no interceptions, and a passer rating of 136.4.............

So glad to see Big Ben on track to start the season run.....I just wish the Steeler's would get a decent back-up QB. We need a good, young back-up just in case Ben goes down, or decides to retire. What we have as back-ups just isn't getting it done....and there is NO future in their play.

Ben looked like he was on a mission and played with purpose...loved the intensity.
