NFL announces the three classic Steelers games to be uploaded on YouTube

Last week, football fans had an opportunity to vote for five classic NFL games and three of them will be published on the NFL’s YouTube channel.

The league announced the results yesterday on NFL.com.

The voting was completed on each team’s Facebook page and began June 20th and ended on Tuesday.

Here are the three classic Pittsburgh Steelers games that will be featured on YouTube.

    Pittsburgh Steelers:
Super Bowl XLIII — Steelers vs. Cardinals (39%)
2008 AFC Championship Game — Steelers vs. Ravens (23%)
2005 AFC Divisional Playoff Game — Steelers vs. Colts (16%)

The league will upload the three classic games for all 32 teams on their YouTube channel this August. Be on the lookout for some solid games that will bring back some nostalgia.

I am lucky enough to have been alive for all the Steelers Superbowls, and I have to say my favorite is XLIII. That game had more ups, downs, twists and turns than I have ever seen in any other Superbowl. The momentum swung from one side to the other and the outcome was in question right down to the very end (Just like most Steeler Superbowls).

Thanks for posting this Sue I know these games and they are all classics.

I have XLIII and the 08 AFCC game on Blu-Ray but I'm glad the 05 game is being uploaded to YT.

The 2005 AFCCG against the Broncos was probably the best the team played during that entire postseason.

That game had the tackle by Troy falling down sideways but still having enough athleticism and super human reflexes to still make that tackle.

Also historic was Ike making an INT.

That Colts game had the greatest play no one ever talks about, Willie Williams tackle in the backfield on 3rd and 1 late in the 4th quarter. The field was wide open for the guy to run about 30 yards, but Willie blitzed, and caught him from behind just as he was about to turn upfield. Without that play, the Colts run the clock down to almost nothing, and it's likely another home playoff loss for Cowher.

I was hoping one of the games would be from the 70's.

This and I was hoping one would be from the 1989 Wild Card game against the Oilers...still one of my favorite steelers games.

I'd like to see some games that we don't normally see besides the Super Bowls and Immaculate Reception game.

The AFCC games vs Oakland in the 70s.
The AFCC game vs Houston in 1979-80 with the nullified TD by Renfro/Oilers and Bum Phillips' hat
The 1975 playoff game vs the Colts when Andy Russell took 3 years to return a fumble recovery for a TD

The 1984 game where we won with a bunch of nobodies vs the eventual SB champ 49ers and Montana/Walsh
The 89 WC game mentioned by 86Ward
Some of the 1976 shutout games (DEEE-FENSE!)
