San Jose’s Martin Jones stopped Kris Letang, then Matt Murray denied Joe Thornton after a Matt Cullen giveaway, then Jones stoned Evgeni Malkin right there in the middle of the front porth, but on it went.

Finally the Sharks did something they hadn’t bothered to do in the Stanley Cup final to this point — they took a lead, and there’s no better time to do that than in overtime, as the serious hockey students like to say. When that happens, the horn blows and you win. It’s a fine tactic..........

The ice in San Jose was a mess. Even the announcers alluded to how "soft" it was and that the puck was making all kinds of weird bounces.

They said it was in the high 90's outside. Don't know if that makes it harder to keep the ice at the right temperature or not.

At least it didn't look like this

I figured the Sharks were going to get the win on their home ice. Hopefully the Pens bring it back and win it in Pittsburgh.

i seen a game in dallas a few years back and the ice i swear was like slush more than ice. slowed the hawks big time, but it is hoome field advantage for those teams in cali and florida and dallas

Nice try bringing out Metallica for the national anthem but only Jimi Hendrix can pull off the anthem on guitar.
