thats not true. Carnell Lake strongly hinted that he's going to let Artie play bump and run which is where he excels. That could get him on the field early.

I dont know anything about Sean Davis so i cant say much about him but everyone else seems to like him.

Javon Hargrave is instantly one of the most freaky interior DL athletes in the league. He can make an impact now if we keep it simple for him

God the Hargrave pick makes everything so much better. This dude is going to ruin lives. If we get Andrew Billings in the 4th I will cry

I like every draft. That is a problem. I think every new Steeler will make the HOF and lead the team to a gazillion number of Super Bowls.

So I could care less if with take Billings or Smillings with the next pick - they will be the best player ever in the history of the universe!!!

The talked about Connor Cook in the 3rd round before selecting Hargrave, I think they could go QB in round 4.

or maybe they just felt Connor Cook presented great value in the 3rd, I highly doubt he'll be there still when we pick in the 4th...

Browns take Cody Kessler, as Connor Cook slide continues

Posted by Mike Florio on April 29, 2016

    The Connor Cook slide continues.

He wasn’t taken before Christian Hackenberg. He wasn’t taken before Jacoby Brissett. And he wasn’t taken before Cody Kessler.

The Browns took Kessler in round three. Which means Cook is still on the board, as the compensatory phase of round three begins.

The slide by Cook is stunning. He told PFT Live earlier this week he’d get nervous if not taken after round two. He is undrafted after round three.

The good news (if there is any) is that former Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins was a fourth-round pick. Things worked out pretty well for him.

Re: NFL Draft Day 2016 thread

I'm not a draft speculator. I just don't have the time or see the point? More often than not you make an ass of yourself if you go all in or all out on a particular player. That's not to say I don't try to keep abreast of things as they unfold, just that I wont paint myself into the corner and declare greatness or disaster looming.

Anyway all that said I like the overall plan. The Steelers are definitely going about this draft with purpose. We've added 3 solid athletes to the mix, add in Golsen and that's 4 new presumably able bodies on defense.Hopefully they figure out a way to get them all on the field this season and up to speed as the year progresses. Overall I'm pretty happy with what's being done.

Now I realize I haven't actually said anything just now. But I wanted to let you all know I'm still here.

    Carry on.

I would trade the rest of our picks to move up to get him and call it a draft like Ditka/Williams for the Saints.

yeah, because other teams wouldn't claim our 1st, 2nd and 3rd round draft picks off our practice squad...

Re: NFL Draft Day 2016 thread

If Andrew Billings is there, take him. Great value pick. Sheldon Day would provide depth. For an additional D-lineman, Quentin Jefferson visited.

    I like Tyler Ervin.

I reeeeally want a pass-rush specialist. That was going to be Nassib (in my mind). DE or OLB or some mixture, as long as he can rush the passer. Who though??? It's a little early for Victor Ochi. This doesn't seem to be the best round to add a pass-rusher.

Nick Kwiatkoski is a very interesting player. He was a safety, who switched to linebacker. A poor man's Su'a Cravens.

It would be nice to give Munchack an OG to develop and eventually take over for Ramon Foster. Jerald Hawkins visited. So did Caleb Benenoch. I like the OGs from Arkansas: Denver Kirkland and Sebastian Trelota. Spencer Drango is a fan favorite. As are Connor McGovern and Jack Collins.

    Pharoah Cooper visited.

A bunch of corners and safeties visited, but I don't see them going that direction here. I do see them adding Tavon Young in R6; he's a tough hitting, but small, corner.

Lastly, Dak Prescott visited. Connor Cook was discussed as an option at 89. But, I really like Kevin Hogan.

As we know too well: it's important to have a quality backup.
