It's not who I expected, but I can't doubt his eye or coaching ability.

I'm good with it...........Now the loooooooooooooong wait until the next pick.

He's tackle that played RT and LT. He will probably be expected to also play G.

At this point, I'm ready for the Steelers to take some shots at small-school possibilities. Maybe someone who can step in quickly as punt returner and work his way into the roster as a CB or WR

    Munchak wanted him.

Ergo, based solely on that, it's a good pick.

You'd like Morgan Burns CB, Kansas St

Great return man, that may be able to develop into a corner that can contribute down the road.

I'm afraid that doesn't give us enough time.

Maybe we can discuss if questioning Bill Cowher's quarterback picks takes away my Steelers Fan Card.

did you know Bill Cowher didn't want to select Big Ben and our meddling owner had to step in and overrule him?

Here's another thought . . . Do we want to try and go TE in the next pick? Yes, we picked one up, but I'd like to see us develop another one from within as well. Just looking at metrics alone (I don't watch college FB), a couple names are intriguing. Beau Sandland had a top 6 40 for TE, and benched 23 times. He also shows good vertical at 35" and tops in broad jump. And, the kid can hit as a blocker.

    Something like that.

    Actually, he's 5' 11" 200 lbs

And he does that against Division 1 schools with real talent.

What a ridiculous pick. I can't believe you would want him on our football team. That pick is so bad, I'm embarrassed for you. The Steelers shouldn't even look at this guy. They should run the other way. If someone in the war room mentions his name, they should be fired on the spot or at the very least be forced to sniff Cam Thomas' jock strap.

any idea why Billings fell so far? half the talk on this board for weeks was wether we would take him in R1 because he'd be gone by our R2 pick.

the other half was how we should trade up in R1 because he'll never make it to #25...

If there's a player there they really like, they have to go get him. It doesn't cost a lot to move up to get him.

Agreed, I'd see if a team would take both 7th's or, a 7th and next years 6th?? to move in the 5th round.

You know, the more I look at the kid, the more I like what I see. I'd love to see this guy in the 5th or 6th round. I think we could see him on the field a bit towards the end of this year, and have him more of a constant next year. Give him a couple of years to fill out and the coaches to work with him, I think he might be a solid contributor.

NFL combine tape. Here's tape from his Junior College days.
