6'1" 200lbs ran 4.44. He look likes a Steelers safety.

    Exactly.

I wanted Billings, but it doesn't make this a bad pick.

If Billings drops to anywhere in R3, trade next year's R2. He'd be worth a R2, right ... oh wait, he wasn't even worth this year's R2 when he was on the board. Face it, we're just not interested.

Billings had Dinner with everyone and Joe Greene's mom. Not sure why they keep passing on him unless everyone knows something we don't. It's not just the Steelers that passed on him, but 31 other teams too.

Or... Billings, Hargrave, Bullard, Washington, Day, or Nassib will be there at 89.

Seriously, I am shutting off this draft. I don't even want to know which raw player they reach for in round 3. If they wanted safety, why didn't they get Vonn Bell?
Bell would support the run defense nearly as well as Davis.

Yeah, once again the Steelers are like

oh well. At least we actually did something to try and address the secondary. Although not exactly a great job. So after I'm done kicking dogs, I'll probably feel somewhat better about it.

There has to be some reason. It is not just the Steelers passing him over.

They are all project players, so they may be pretty good in 4 years after Big Ben has retired. So that has me thinking the Steelers are already eyeing his replacement and scouting High School Junior and Senior QB's.

It's the only thing that makes sense.

    There goes Maliek Collins.

    WHO's LEFT:
    Billings, Hargrave, Bullard, Washington**, Day...

**Ohio St. ...and, the Steelers have drafted a Buckeye in 5 of the past 6 drafts.

I see in your signature you predicted Sean Davis in the 2nd though. Nice call.

That being said, it will take me even more time to warmed up to this pick than Artie Burns. There's just no way Billings passes through yet another gauntlet of the Vikings, Redskins, and Bengals ugh

I believe the Steelers went a long ways in improving the secondary. Plus one more thing, if we can get hargrave in the third, IMO, we will be getting a D-lineman that may end up being a better pass rusher that any of the players we have been talking about. I did want Billing though, still do.

Just my opinion, but I do not really buy into this "project player" mentality many folks have (including the TV analysts) . This was even said about Ben Roethlisberger and he rose up immediately. Same thing was said about MarTavis Bryant and he started producing as soon as he got on the field.

I don't think the Steelers drafted these guys o redshirt them for a year.

Trading up in the 3rd is much easier than trading up in the 2nd.

The problem is they don't have many picks to trade. Compensation picks can't be traded, so not much to work with.
