A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REPUBLICAN

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REPUBLICAN
    By John Gray

Joe gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot
full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for
    minimum water quality standards.

He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His
medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure
their safety and work as advertised.

All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers
medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their
employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe gets it too. He prepares
his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe's bacon is safe to
eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing
    industry.

Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is
properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents
because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting
on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and
takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree-
hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our
    air.

He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to
work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation
fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public
transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a
    contributor.

Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay,
medicals benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some
liberal union members fought and died for these working standards.
Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't
want his employees to call the union.

If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he'll get a worker
compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn't think
he should loose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

It's noon time, Joe needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some
bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured because some
liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who
ruined the banking system before the depression.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten Mortgage and his below
market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that
Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and
earned more money over his lifetime.

Joe is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at
his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to
dad's; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal
    fought for car safety standards.

He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live
in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers
didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electric until
some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and
demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republicans would still
    be sitting in the dark)

He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social
Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could
take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to. After his visit with dad
he gets back in his car for the ride home.

He turns on a radio talk show, the host keeps saying that liberals
are bad and conservatives are good (He doesn't tell Joe that his
beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit
Joe enjoys throughout his day). Joe agrees, "We don't need those big
government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I'm a self-made man
who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I
    have."

That was a fun read Vis, thanks!

You forgot to mention bankrupting our country, enslaving our children and grandchildren with unsustainable debt and trampling our freedoms along the way.

Oh, and by the way, our public water sucks. We still had to buy a water filtration system from a private sector company that pays the highest corporate tax rates in the entire world.

Otherwise it was a very cute piece.

That's way too much reading for the Counselor. He just wants to bait and quickly get to calling people "bigot".

Re: A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REPUBLICAN

It's voting day. Lee, an African-American gentlemen, is on his way to the polling place to cast his vote. Thanks to liberals, Lee is in no hurry to get there. After all, he has no place to be. You see, government regulations and tax burden on the company Lee used to work for forced major downsizing. Now, Lee has all the free time he's ever dreamed of. No worries though. Thanks to liberals, those who ARE lucky enough to still have a job are paying for Lee's health care, groceries, and even his mortgage. Oh, and that vote that Lee will cast for a liberal ? Well, he can thank a Republican for that.

    Interesting Gal.

I recently interviewed someone who had an excellent resume and was a perfect fit for the job I was interviewing people for.

When I called him back for a 2nd interview he told me he would have to wait and see whether Obama would extend unemployment benefits or not and said he would be foolish to take on a full time job when he could work part time, make just us much, and have more free time by continuing utilize unemployment income.

    wow...

I hate people like that. I was unemployed for three months and almost took a job at Wal-Mart just so I could work (and I would've made the same as I would have collecting unemployment). Luckily, I was offered a much better job elsewhere before my Wal-Mart orientation.

The OP raised some good points. Unfortunately the government has gone far beyond collective self-defense and building infrastructure.

In a few years Joe will be paying $650 a month for crappy health insurance because Obama and his minions decided everyone should be forced to hand over their money to a private company. Then when he gets sick he won't be able to find a doctor because that same law provided no relief for doctors from the administrative burdens of dealing with crooked insurance companies.

He'll also have a smaller paycheck because O and company decided to borrow trillions of dollars to give to corporate fat cats who already proved they couldn't manage money responsibly.

Oh, and let's not forget that Fannie, Freddie, sub-prime mortgages, that the OP so proudly noted in his post has lead to this foreclosure bonanza and slumping home sales. I had to do a short sale on my home to avoid foreclosure. Bought it for $107,000 in 1998, sold it for $65,000 in 2010. Nice.

EMPLOYER is what made everything possible in almost every paragraph in the OP. Sounds like everyone is taking it in the ass, except for Joe.

    wow...

GB, you hit the nail right on the head. When I run a 'for hire' ad, I get a lot of people who come in and get interviewed just so I can sign the little paper that says they are looking for a job. Even though they have no intention of taking one. Countless people have come through the door that have been out of work for a 12-18 months and wouldn't take a job if I begged them to until their unemployment runs out and they're for sure there won't be another extension. It makes me want to puke.
