Vick did better than I thought he would. He'll adjust much better with time.

They'll have it nailed down in ten days when we play SD. It jus takes time to acclimate a new player to the offense. Especially a QB.

We didn't lose this game because of Vick we lost purely on coaching decisions

Because Vick sucked, but this was a winnable game right till the end and the poor decision making killed us.

There have been a few.

1995 losing to Jacksonville an expansion team and then to the Bungles
2002 losing to expansion Houston at home
Too many others but this one ranks way up there

Coaches played it close to the vest, I agree. Can you blame them though? Your new QB has only one day of full practice before starting a rival game amd hasn't started a game in over 6 months.

That four fumble game against Cleveland was shitty. So was the throw the ball in 40 mph winds game against the Browns. I'll take this close loss before both of those Cleveland games.

Coaches played it close to the vest, I agree. Can you blame them though? Your new QB has only one day of full practice before starting a rival game amd hasn't started a game in over 6 months.

They were a bit too conservative. They needed to go down the field a bit more. The longest pass they tried was the one Brown dropped, but it was a very well thrown ball. Should have tried a few more. Again, I can't get mad at them for not asking Scobee to kick a 50 yarder after what we saw. If he had missed, the board would be blasting Tomlin for giving him a third chance. Not using Bell om 3rd and 2, or 4th and 1, was the killer. The defense was fairly good, except for the drive that let the Rats get back in the game, but most teams will have one terrible defensive series in a game.

Makes you appreciate the reliable kickers we've had over the years. Damned Hall Of Fame Game!

This loss hurts because a win would have left us needing to win only one of the next three to still be above .500 after 4 games without Ben. With 5 weeks to heal, he might have been ready by then.

Way too many missed tackles in this game. Defense has to do better than that to expect success.
