    DeAngelo Williams.

Only player worth a damn tonight.

Defense, I knew it was going to be a tall order facing Brady, but they had no fighting chance tonight.

Ben was a huge disappointment. He needed to play big tonight and he didn't.

Josh Scobee Sucks. Then again. He's a Jacksonville Jagoff, so he's a loser by default.

0-1. On to San Francisco. Fire Mike Tomlin.

It's going to be rough without Bryant and Bell.

Reminds me of that 2013 Miami game. Too many missed opportunities and a sucky secondary

Yes, that game is a good parallel to tonight's game.

Bad play call by Haley sometimes, terrible clock management, 2 miss field goal........

The positive, the Steelers moved the ball, but they must finish the drive with a TD

yeah, mad props to deangelo williams. I will always be thankful for having Ben, but that doesnt make him bullet proof to criticism. He had no excuses tonight and he just underwhelmed. How can you NOT throw multiple TD's on that swiss cheese defense? Especially with Deangelo absolutely killing it. That interception was inexcusable. There was no need for a desperation throw at that point in the game, especially when you were moving the ball just fine. Even during garbage time he looked bad

That being said, Ben is very far down the list of things that didnt go well.

    Re: DeAngelo Williams.

Ben was not bad if you ask me. A bad throw here and there, but he completed almost 70% of his passes and kept the ball moving throughout the game. I don't know what else you want from the guy.

My only complaint about the passing game was that we got bogged down in the middle of the game by calling too many of those cute 2-yard quick slants where the receiver is supposed to run for another 10 yards, only they figured it out after the first few so it stopped working. That and a few OL penalties at bad times. But the offense was not the problem.

Williams was outstanding and I'll be glad to have him on the team even after Bell comes back. He's no #2 back; he's a solid 1A.

I was thinking the same thing: What game was everyone else watching? Ben made a few mistakes but he wasn't horrible or anything. He was usually moving the ball with ease. Chalk up some vomit play calls like the trick play. That killed us. Scobee all of a sudden sucks. That didn't help either.

Listening to his radio interview and he says he can't wait until Le'Veon Bell comes back and how special Bell is. So much of an improvement over crybaby blount.

Good to know we have Williams in reserve for Bell. Hopefully Bell stays healthy, but at least we know we have a viable option to keep Bell fresh and in case he gets injured.

I think Bell is going to get a good amount of rest through the season with Williams here.

Uh, you do know that Tomlin and Haley are still the coaches, right? We can hope that they have enough sense to keep Bell fresh, but these guys can get pretty stubborn.

I'm afraid you are right. I just hope they don't ignore Deangelo by the end of the season. They are lucky he's had a good attitude and proved he can still play at a high level. We all know Bell is the man but it is nice having a good #2 at RB. It's been a long time.

The goal is for DeAngelo to get in on every 3rd series when Bell is back. (Batch talked about it briefly on his radio show tonight) That plan obviously changes on the flow of the game but that was supposed to be the goal last year until DiaperBong Blount* boo hooed his way off the team.

I would be good with that strategy. At times, I'd rather see Bell go maybe three series and then throw Williams out there...

Short term, anyway. Long term, I'd say it was James Harrison (although, that's an Undrafted FA, not exactly the same).

    I agree.

I didn't get to see most of the game today but just watched DeAngelo's highlights on NFL.com. All I gotta say is WOW !!

That 2nd effort at the goal line was one of the best I have ever seen !

Certainly worth checking out !....That play starts around the 1:09'.

Easily short term. Farrior had a nice long career in black and yellow.

I think Ryan Clark came here after Farrior did, so I think he would be the runaway winner as best FA since Farrior..........but yes, DeAngelo has already paid dividends in his brief stint. He has always had talent, but he had some nagging injuries in Carolina as well as just not always having the opportunities or supporting cast around him there in Carolina.

    Since James Farrior you have:

    Ryan Clark
    Charlie Batch
    Mewelde Moore
    Will Allen

Well he was cut from the ratbirds, and retired from the bungles so you just may have a point.

Boy what a luxury to have both Bell and Williams in the backfield. Not many teams will have such a great 1-2 punch. Throw in the other weapons on our offense and I think we should go for 2 on every touchdown this year.
