What Bright Spots Did You Find In A Dismal Preseason??

    For me there were three:

    Ryan Shazier.
    Martavis Bryant's on-field play.
    Josh Scobee.

    Dismal?

I saw Ben and his crew lighting it up on offense. That's all we need.

These ain't your daddy's Steelers. Fuggetabout the defense, all the star power is on offense. All of it.

    Good choices. I would add:

Jordan Berry and Vince Williams. We knew Williams was solid but I think he had 12 tackles last night. Shows he can be all over the field with the best of them. We basically have 3 starters at MLB and that isn't a bad problem to have.

Bright spots were few and far between for me. I already knew that our starting offense was great.

My lone bright spot was Berry. No one else did more than expected.

I've got a lot of dark spots though.

I've been pleased with Vick. I'm much more confident in him being on the field if BB goes down than Gradkowski.

    The Punter is a beast.

Martavis is both a monster and an idiot.

Very dismal IMO. Offense is great. How will it be wothoutBell and Bryant? We don't know...defense and special teams have been horrific!

Re: What Bright Spots Did You Find In A Dismal Preseason??

I think we have 4 starting caliber ILB's actually, with Spence. I wouldn't be surprised if we trade either Spence or Williams to get some draft picks back (I would like to keep them both). I think we saw a glimpse of what Shazier is going to do for this team, the next Polamalu type disruptive player, excited to see him improve this season. I am thinking Dupree and Moats may be our starters next season as Dupree has shown more rushing ability than JJ this preseason, so it will be Harrison and Moats who get the most playing time this season. Obviously our starting Off is going to be unstoppable with they are all actually playing, MB was unstoppable this preseason (moron) so once he and Bell are back we will be lighting it up (as long as we can get through the first 4 games at least 2-2 I will be happy).

Bad spots, our secondary is killing us. It is looking like Will Allen will be starting again. Still huge ?'s on Cortez so will we see Gay and Boyken starting opposite each other? Pass rush needs to improve and DL needs to figure out how to stop the run. That is pretty much all the defense aside from the ILB play . . .

Bright spot? Pre-season being over is the brightest spot.

Big AV #78, I was at the game last night and he continued to play well. He made some mistakes but is only going to improve. He took atleast three players off their feet with just an arm punch, like off their feet and thrown backwards and looked for someone else to block.

Forgot to add Berry. With Berry and Scobee, the kicking game is pretty damn good. Now if the coverage units and return units could step it up, special teams would be under control.

Scobee had 61% of its kickoff as touchback last year....It'll help

For Berry, his net yards was very good in the preseason, so I do not think the coverage unit will be a problem this year, but we'll see.

You know something is wrong when everyone's bright spot in pre-season is a punter and kicker.

You read my mind. Perhaps the most dreadful pre season, especially on defense, that I can remember. These next 4 games are going to be horrible.

2013 was worst and the steelers had a 0-4 start in the regular season that year ....The offense was the problem in the 2013 preseason too...
