Naw, Seahawks fans are the worst. Patriots fans are #2. These days they're mostly just pathetic, but hey, I'll never pass up a chance to kick a dog when it's down.

I was eating lunch when I saw the news on my phone, and it made me do such a sudden guffaw I nearly snorted half a pastrami sandwich out my nose.

I was sitting in a bar when I watched the announcement with my bartendress, who is a huge Pats fan... and she's in my fantasy league!

same time as Bell got his suspension reduced!

I think she hates me even more now, after my yapping....she turned the TV off!

Just heard WHY Brady received four games as a sentence.

According to Goodell in his ruling, Brady is compared to a PED offender hurting the integrity of the game by using other methods to enhance his abilities. So, the suspension for first time PED violation is . . . 4 games. Brady's? 4 games. That logic actually makes a whole lot of sense.

Yeah, all these people going "OMG GREG HARDY ONLY GOT 4 GAMES HOW CAN BRADY GET 4 GAMES OMFG!!!!" are idiots. Of course something that affects the game itself is going to get a relatively harsher penalty than what you do off the field. Tom Brady can go manipulate all the balls he wants in his free time and I couldn't care less. That's a lifestyle choice. Cheating IN THE GAME should be punished more severely. Just like it's not ILLEGAL to be on a baseball game, but if you do it while you're a professional baseball player, you bet you're getting banned.

I personally could do without all the BS penalties for off-the-field conduct. There are people in charge of that already, and they're called the police. Suspending people every time they get arrested doesn't do anything to change the image of the league or stop the behavior. They've been dong it for 10 years now and everything is the same, because out of 1,500-odd players, a couple dozen a year are just going to do some stupid shit. If anything, the suspensions draw MORE attention to bad behavior, because every time someone puts a foot wrong, it's a media frenzy of omg omg omg omg omg how many games is he going to get, omg omg is the league saying ______ is worse than domestic violence omg.

If I killed Goodell and became the new commissioner (pretty sure that's how it works), the first thing I would do is say there is going to be no more league discipline for off-the-field stuff; that is between you and the cops, and the league just is not interested because sticking your nose in it only makes it worse.

Bell got his reduced because he admitted he screwed up, Brady still thinks he did nothing wrong and is trying to beat the rap on a technicality.

It looks like Goodell and the NFL are trying to beat Brady to the punch and filed suit against Brady in federal court in NYC to uphold the suspension.

    Just not true.
1st of all yes I give props to Goodell for doing the right thing when I never ever expected it.

As for the Pats conspiracy tell me again how Shawn Peyton got suspended a year but Belicheat didn't. Tell me how fair spygate punishment was. While we are at it tell me how come Ben didn't get to be around the team or Steeler facilities on allegations while Brady can and Bens suspension was for 6 and reduced to 4 but Brady's was 4 all along.

But yeah other than that there was no reason to believe there was any pats favoritism.

I agree with @steelreserve...the people comparing Hardy to Brady don't get it. Brady tarnished the game...more than once...and didn't cooperate with the investigation. Hardy got 4 games for off the field "hi jinx" and let's not forget, Hardy was also suspended significant time in 2014...to the tune of 15 games? The #ShadyBrady fans out there seem to overlook that...

Gotta admit...I am totally and completely shocked that Goodell upheld the suspension (and reduced Bell's.) What I'm NOT surprised about is that Brady destroyed his phone. Not sure what will happen in court, but the NFL definitely surprised me today.

If I recall correctly, Ben was allowed to attend training camp and the preseason games. He wasn't allowed at the facility or contact with the team during the 4 game suspension, which what I assume will happen to Brady*.

Brady* is acting like a little bitch (he is a little bitch and everybody knows it) because he feels entitled as "the face of the NFL".

Ben took his punishment like a man, even if he didn't agree with it. He shouldered the blame for the entire incident like a man....and let that girl get on with her life while his reputation was ruined and his career nearly destroyed. Then he did everything Goodell and the Rooney's expected of him and then some. He never, ever once has said anything negative about Goodell or his punishment since the day it came down and it has taken years to rebuild the goodwill between him and the fans. You can tell by every word that comes out of his mouth that he is grateful for getting a second chance.

Ben is much more mature and a bigger man than Brady* will ever be.

Yes Ben was allowed to practice and pre-season, but then was not allowed to use the team facilities or even communicate with the team, but I don't think the same is going on with Shady Brady but I could be wrong. Everything I have read says nothing of him being banded from using team facilities or communicating with the team.

Everything else I agree with Ben is the better QB in all areas both on and off the field.

    This.

As disgusting as the incident with Ben was, the fact of the matter is he learned he needed to grow up, and he did. That four game suspension and whatever else he went through during that time was literally the turning point in his maturity. Had Goodell (or, as I still refer to him when it comes to the Pats* spying scandal, Good-deal) actually did something other than a slap on the wrist the first time the Pats* cheated, maybe Brady would have learned from it.

Not anymore he can't .. the reason why the NFL filed a lawsuit preemptively is to ensure the venue would be New York, not Minnesota. So that door is shut.

What do you expect from morons?

Street crime is different from cheating within the game. The league has no business being involved in the former and getting into it was a stupid move from the start.

No matter how irritating the Patriots fans' whining gets, remember: This is what they are spending their offseason doing instead of celebrating. That will put a smile right back on your face.

Well, he didn't have to be convicted. Being charged with the crime is enough to justify a suspension... err wait, Ben was never even charged with a crime. Never mind.
