Pure stupidity on their part. The flag at the SC Capitol building was put there in the 1950s as a middle finger to black people.
The flag on top of the General Lee (whose name is apparently offensive, as is the horn) is a completely different animal. Bo and Luke were just good ol' boys never meaning no harm. The decision to pull the Dukes of Hazzard off the air was far more racist than the show, because TV Land apparently doesn't consider black people intelligent enough to make the distinction.
Credit can be relevant to an employer. If a person has really bad credit, not just score, but payment history etc, it can be an indicator of work ethic, integrity etc.
Of course it should be taken in as a whole, not necessarily black and white, but it can still help in some cases.

House Passes Ban On Confederate Flags In Federal Cemeteries
The House on Tuesday evening passed an amendment that would prohibit Confederate flags from being displayed on graves in federal cemeteries.
Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA) proposed the ban as an amendment to the Interior Department spending bill.
Currently, the National Park Service allows individuals to place Confederate flags on Civil War veterans' graves on Confederate Memorial Day

Us European-Americans, whose grandparents only arrived in this country in the 1900's, aren't involved in all that, just so you know.

D.C. Residents Say Take Down Jefferson Memorial, Rename Washington, D.C.
CNN anchor Don Lemon recently floated the idea of re-thinking the Jefferson Memorial, dedicated to Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States, since he was a slave owner.
“There may come a day when we want to re-think Jefferson, I don’t know if we should do that, but when we get to that point, I’ll be happy to partake in that particular discussion,” Lemon said.
“It should come down,” one D.C. resident told PJ Media, referencing the Jefferson Memorial in Washington.
“If we do that, though, George Washington owned slaves. Should we rename Washington, D.C.?” he was asked.

Not the least bit surprising. Time to "re-think" the American flag too, doncha think? After all, it was created by slave owning RACISTS!
This is probably not too far from reality either...
On that note, it's time to shitcan the Constitution too as it includes that racist Three-Fifths Compromise!
To quote GBMelBlount, "toast"...
We might as well give the entire country back to the Native Americans since we took it from them and it wasn't fair.
The effect won't be much but it's the right thing to do. That flag has no business flying over a state government building.
The other movements mentioned (desecrating NBR's grave, banning the flag from the graves of soldiers who fought under it, etc.) is grossly inappropriate, but the Confederate flag shouldn't be glorified in the manner South Carolina was doing before today..
I am so glad SC is removing the Confederate Flag from the capital building. Makes me feel good that TVLand will no longer show Dukes of Hazard so we don't have to see that car with the Stars and Bars all over it. Now Mississippi and other southern states should remove any image of the Rebel Flag incorporated in it's design. If we get rid of this image, then racism will be wiped out forever in the United States.

Now The Symbol Of New Orleans Is Considered Racist

New Orleans City Council: Confederate Statues A ‘Nuisance,’ Must Be Removed
Mitch Landrieu aims to rid city of statues of Jefferson Davis, Robert E Lee, and other Confederate figures
Last week, Landrieu instructed the city council to begin the legal process to remove statues of Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederacy; General Robert E Lee; General PGT Beauregard; and a monument honoring soldiers in the Battle of Liberty Place, an uprising of former Confederate soldiers in 1874. Landrieu also wants Jefferson Davis Parkway renamed to honor Dr Norman C Francis, the long-time president of Xavier University, an all-black Catholic institution.
