We always tend to take a what-the-hell DE in the 6th or 7th round who doesn't make the team ... this year he looks like that guy. Coming soon to the Carolina Panthers practice squad.

Holliman still out there, Drummond as well. Anthony Harris. Eskridge. Prewitt. Maybe a 7th Rd saftety?

If Tre McBride is still there though, I don't see Tomlin passing on him.

    EDIT: Or maybe OG Matias

Re: NFL Draft Day 2015 thread

Morning guys. 2 am was too early for me so I went back to sleep. now 7am

    Round 4: Doran Grant CB
    Round 5: Jesse James TE
    Round 6: Letterius Walton DT
    Round 6C: Anthony Chickillo DE

I always thought Doran Grant was the Prototypical Dick LeBeau scheme corner.(Comfortable playing back at the first down marker and playing the ball in front of him. That pick changes my mind leading me to think that Colbert and Tomlin had more say in picking CB's than I original thought.

Jesse James was almost predictable. Very much a Matt Spaeth like pick. Tall blocking TE who you hope can develop into a pass catching threat. If not you have you inline TE.

Walton is a 5 Tech project to put on the practice squad and then let somebody steal from underneath you. Don't know much about him.

Anthony Chickillo has potential and talent. He will compete with HoJo and Zumwalt for the last OLB spot with the rest back to the Practice squad.

Just heard that Zac Stacy RB from the Rams just got traded to the jets for a 7th. That's a good deal for the JETS

Now that is a 7th round pick.

That's how you gamble in round 7

Excellent pick in the 7th round! If he learns to tackle you are talking about a steal, and if he never learns to tackle just another 7th round pick that couldn't make headway. I love late round picks with high upside

Colbert says they were going Golson all the way in the 2nd. Wanted to trade up for him.

LOL, exactly. He was already a reach where they took him. Trading up to get him would've been really dumb.

Just got home and found we didn't take an OG. This draft is a bust.

Actually, I like these kid we are bringing in very much. All of them are hard working players that love the game. Good job Steelers.

I may not have gotten the order right, but 2 OLBs, 2CBs, 1WR, 1TE, and I think I predicted an OG instead of a safety. About the way I thought it would go. We did bring in 3-4 OGs with UDFAs though. Nice draft!

That's the high payoff underdog scenario that makes the draft interesting. You project yourself into his shoes and know what you know about yourself. Whenever I was given an opportunity I made the most of it. The hunger to achieve rather than walk in as an anointed first rounder will make him a better person if he makes it.
