Active GMs with best record of drafting Pro Bowlers

For all the grief Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones receives when it comes to his football acumen, guess which NFL decision-maker has drafted the highest percentage of Pro Bowl players?

It's Jones -- 14.7 percent of his draftees (34 of them) have made at least one Pro Bowl. In all, 17 current NFL decision-makers have drafted players who have made it to a Pro Bowl.

Here's a look at the 10 -- actually, it's 11 because of a tie -- who have drafted the highest percentage of Pro Bowlers. Players who have been to multiple Pro Bowls count only once.

I think the Pro Bowl is a poor standard to measure success when it's pretty much just a popularity contest these days. But interesting list nonetheless.

To me Colbert's one of those guys who's always, to borrow a phrase from Mike T, "above the line" but never quite elite. Easy to look at Troy and Ben as success stories, but those 08/09 drafts were truly awful.

More recently, Bell looks like a winner, but the jury's still out on the last two 1st rounders.

In a lot of cases it's easy to draft pro bowlers. It was highly likely when we moves up for Troy and Ben to know they would pan out. When you have whole draft years go by without adding a single contributing player, you're not that great.

misleading statistic. Especially since some of those on the list consistently have the luxury of better picks.

Ozzie Newsome and Ted Thompson are clearly 2 of THE very best

Wonder if that list would include players that got drafted by one team and became a pro bowler for another team...ie) Mike Vrabel? Not one of Colbert's picks but a player drafted by the Steelers and went on to be a Pro Bowler for the Patriots...
