It was an interesting attempt, but so many flaws. Not the least of which is that there seems to be no "weighting" of the positions. All 22 starters are not equal in their ability to impact the game.

For instance, take JJ Watt and put him on the Steelers. Do they still need 5 more guys? Or take Andrew Luck and put him on the Cardinals, are they still 9 players away from reaching a Super Bowl?

Plus how can anyone realistically look at the Browns roster and see the basis for a SB contender?

IDK ... Give the Browns a top flight QB , top flight WR who isnt on the cusp of throwing his career away and perhaps 2 players on def and they instantly become a team nobody wants to play ...had they had a top flight QB alone they probably would have won the division last year ....

they have a decent running game now , they have a really good O-Line , a pro bowl quality TE ..... so on O they lack 2 things

they are lacking some on def but have some really good players there as well , a few quality additions and they could be very good

I also think our defense could be a lot more stout next year simply due to our younger defensive players having another year of development.

The Browns have no skill players on offense. Period. So the 3 players they're lacking might as well be 20. They're essentially a ship without a rudder, sails, or engine. Yeah great looking boat you have there. Too bad you can't get it out of the harbor.

Exactly. Which is why I take EVERYTHING from sources like PFF and Football Outsiders and other sites that draw conclusions like these based on nothing but statistics and, IMO, their very flawed opinions based on those statistics, with a grain of salt.

For example, according to their "study," the Cowboys have all the pieces necessary to win a SB. You really going to tell me the Cowboys have all the pieces in place? Their defense is worse than ours and most people had them penciled in for a top-5 draft pick before the 2014 season started, for crying out loud.

Another great point. Nobody was calling Bell "elite" a year ago (which is a term that has been so massively overused that it's pretty much irrelevant at this point, but that's another conversation entirely). In fact, most people were thinking at the time that our FO screwed up by taking him over Lacy in the draft, a feeling which became magnified even more after he got busted for weed.

Lacy wouldn't have been a terrible pick though. I was happy with the Bell pick...but honestly probably wpildve been more excited about the Lacy pick at that time. Happy how it has worked out so far!

I don't know how anyone who watched Steeler games in 2013 could come away with thinking Bell wasn't an exceptional back?
