Steelers' steady offensive line paid dividends this season

To Ramon Foster's left this past season was Kelvin Beachum.

    To his right, Maurkice Pouncey.

For the first time during Foster's career, every time he took the field to start a game for the Steelers, the same two familiar faces were flanking him on each side.

This was the most improved unit on the team this year and is only going to get better. I think Mike Munchak was a big reason why.

I wondered if part of the reason for all the injuries was the scheming. When players aren't sure what to do, they hesitate, and hesitating when others are going all out is a surefire way for serious injury. I know Munchak simplified the schemes. Sure, it probably worked in that it gave the players the opportunity to actually go out there and put their talent to use, but I can't discount the other as well, that it enabled the line to stay healthy.

    That's a good point.
