There ain't no gettin' around it. Trump came off as very childish in this debate. Rand got the better of him at the start (a situation that was completely his own fault) and Carly Fiorina absolutely mauled him. The body language and facial expressions made him look like a complete assclown IMO (although CNN set it up so that couldn't be missed).
He very awkwardly went after Paul in the very first minute when he had absolutely nothing to do with the question. Then he attempted to claim that he didn't go for ad-hominems and tried to take one in the very same sentence. Everybody noticed that.
Carly exploded his magazine with a shot to the midships and his response was the single most awkward moment of the night.
His exchange with Jeb also came off horribly, as he was left claiming that Jeb was "making things up" when the facts were not only on Jeb's side, but he had already admitted to it. Plus the whole situation was clearly established fact.

Jeb, OTOH, was just playing to perceptions. People vote for tall candidates. It's contrived and comes off that way, but it's not childish IMO.

Trump acted like an ass no doubt about that. Standing on your tiptoes to get your picture taken like a 6 year old is very childish. But thats just my opinion.

    GB,
I agree with all of this.
Carson is a scary-smart dude. There ain't no such thing as a dumb neurosurgeon. But how that translates in an election... it's a weird election so hard to say.
It's also clear that he's out of the loop on a lot of the policy. This isn't his area of expertise. But he's clearly capable of picking it up rapidly.
He's one of those guys who can change his position simply on the strength of new data completely without guile. But do the voters follow that? I don't know.
I worry about how well he would fare in a debate against Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden. He's smarter than them and his arguments are all logical, but that doesn't count for what it should in the face of emotional populist rhetoric.

Ted Cruz on Republican Leadership: ‘We’ve Got a Bunch of Weenies’

“If you look at the left, if you look at Barack Obama, or Sen. Reid or Pelosi they are committed to their liberal principles. They are commited to their policy agenda that frankly is destroying this country.” Cruz explained, “They will crawl over broken glass with a knife between their teeth to advance their policy agenda.”

“On our side, we’ve got a bunch of weenies!”

Cruz explained that in every fight between Obama and Congressional leadership, Congress surrenders. He points to funding Obama’s executive amnesty, among other policies, if Obama threatens a veto.

Cruz said the GOP leadership has buckled to Obama’s veto threat repeatedly and predicts that it will happen again regarding the Congressional budget in regards to funding Planned Parenthood.

Cruz questioned, “What the heck is the point of having elections if the people we elect won’t stand and fight?”

He said GOP leadership has one tactic, “surrender.”

Joe "Ridin' With" Biden Close To Announcing White House Bid, Aides Say

Following the circus that unfolded in real-time on CNN at the Reagan Library last Wednesday, and considering that your choices on the Democratic ticket are essentially limited to an entrenched member of America’s political aristocracy who’s facing an FBI investigation and a radical socialist who wants to implement the largest peacetime increase in government spending in modern history, you’d be forgiven for suggesting that, as bad as things are now in Washington, they may get far worse starting January 1, 2017.

Over the past three months, we’ve documented the rise of Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders, noting that their shockingly high poll numbers reflect the fact that Americans are fed up with business as usual inside the Beltway and are ready to see real (as opposed to Obama-brand) “change.”

That said, Sanders’ plan to turn big government into huge government and Trump’s rather haphazard, ad hoc platform have left some voters wondering if perhaps this isn’t exactly the type of “change” they want after all.

Mr. Biden’s entry would coincide with Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton’s ramped-up efforts to reassure her backers that the probes into her use of a personal email server while she was secretary of state won’t derail her candidacy. That controversy has produced a month of bad headlines for Mrs. Clinton and helped boost her chief rival, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, in the polls. A Biden bid could make her road to the Democratic nomination even tougher.

The Democratic debate next month is one of two important events in October that are on the minds of Mr. Biden’s top advisers as they consider a campaign start date.

WAAAHHH! Make 'em stop pickin' on me! WAAAHHH!

Hillary Screams at Obama: 'Call Off Your F-ing Dogs'

Hillary Clinton — believing leaks by President Barack Obama staff's triggered the federal probe of her private email account — ripped into the commander in chief, telling him, during a tense meeting, "What I want for you to do is call off your f–king dogs, Barack!"

The profane attack came during a tense meeting in the Oval Office that was called by Hillary, against the advice of her husband, former President Bill Clinton, according to bestselling author Ed Klein's new book, "Unlikeable: The Problem with Hillary."

The explosive tome, published by Regnery, hits bookstores next week and was excerpted Wednesday in The New York Post.

During the private meeting, Clinton called the meeting because she felt she was "being persecuted for minor, meaningless violations," Klein writes.

But Hillary lost her temper and swore when Obama at first claimed he didn't know what she was talking about.

"He was almost being deliberately dense. It really angered her," a Clinton source told Klein.

After Clinton's tirade, Klein writes that Obama responded, "There is nothing I can do for you one way or another. Things have been set in motion, and I can't and won't interfere. Your problems are, frankly, of your own making. If you had been honest ..."

Kinda funny the way he completely disassociates himself from former allies when it's politically expedient for him to do so...much like the Clintons themselves!

Hey now, don't you know Hillary and Bill are "dead broke?"

Besides, there's no such thing as a "rich" Democrat. Some of them are just "fiscally enhanced," that's all. Only the evil GOPers are "rich."

Most U.S. voters not aware of Democratic debate

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Despite CNN's countdown clock and special live coverage, more than half of U.S. registered voters are not aware of the first debate between the candidates vying for the Democratic presidential nomination

The lack of awareness had little to do with party affiliation. Only 45 percent of voters registered as Democrats knew of the debate, featuring the candidates for their party's nomination in the 2016 election.
