In Dick LeBeau's eyes, Lawrence Timmons has been a Pro Bowler for some time now. It just takes time before the rest of the NFL realizes that.
The league finally came to that realization Tuesday the Steelers inside linebacker was picked for his first Pro Bowl of his eight-year career.
“Sometimes you have to do it for a few years before people look around and say, ‘Hey, this guy is pretty good,' ” LeBeau said. “In my opinion, he can get out on the field with anybody in the National Football League and play well, and that's what an All-Pro is. It is very rewarding to see guys like that recognized. He just kept hanging in there. Lawrence doesn't say anything, but he has to be feeling it inside. He earned it.”
Timmons found out he was selected to the Pro Bowl from coach Mike Tomlin.
“I really didn't know what to say at first,” Timmons said............
