Yep. FS76 has been a great administrator and an underrated but fair poster. One of the main reasons I stick around.
Cheers!

Here is the post in question:
Looks to me like I said I'd be ecstatic if getting only 5 wins would get Tomlin fired and we got a coach who would give us a chance to win a Super Bowl. THAT'S what would make me ecstatic, not the five wins.
I then said that I knew that getting only five wins would NOT get Tomlin fired. So how could I be rooting for it?
Sorry, try again.![]()

Clueless.

I just want to get to the playoffs and legitimately compete. Super bowl is unlikely of course, but it's time to end the playoff win drought.

Right now, it appears that the Steelers are the Harbaugh and Lamar-led Ravens kryptonite. And the Browns and TNF are Tomlin’s. What does this mean?
It means neither HC is going anywhere else at the moment. It’s really that simple. If either Tomlin or Harbaugh got fired, they’d be hired by another team before your morning coffee cooled. It’s easy to say “Fire the HC!” after a bitter loss. Who’s out there that’s better? Trust me, Panthers and Cowboys fans would LOVE to have the seasons the Steelers have had during Tomlin’s tenure.
Beat the wife. Kick the dog. Set your hair on fire. But constantly calling for Tomlin to get fired is as foolish as Ravens fans constantly calling for Harbaugh to get canned. There’s a reason both are the longest-tenured HC’s in the NFL at the moment. They win. Maybe not every game (no HC does). Maybe they make some foolish or head-scratching decisions at time (every HC does). But in the long run, they win. And they will likely continue to win. Maybe not all the way to the SB, but only two of 32 teams make it that far every season and only one brings home the Lombardi. It’s hard. Very hard. But you have to win during a 17-game season to get there, and that’s something a Tomlin-led team does every freaking year. Maybe not enough W’s to make the post-season, but they consistently compete for it. Trust me- fans of many teams would love to have the records and W’s both the Steelers and Ravens have posted over the 17 and 16 seasons.

Lol, the browns are not the steelers or Tomlin’s kryptonite. Not even close. 5-5 since the 2020, and 16-3 in favor of the steelers in the decade before that. And TNF is everyone’s kryptonite being that its on a short week. One stupid TNF game in their house and the browns won on a fluk play or two.

Tomlin is 2-8 in road TNF games. Has nothing to do specifically with the Stains. It is in general. I mean TNF after the Ratbirds is just the NFL schedulers being assholes
The Steelers lost that 1980 game vs the Oilers. Noll should have been fired for them not scoring a point

The year before were huge signs they were starting to get old. Losses of 34-10 to the lowly Bungles and then a 35-7 whipping by the Air Coryell Chargers. They still won the Super Bowl in 1979 -80 but the cracks were showing then
