Bradshaw is like Kaepernick. His fifteen minutes of fame are over , so they have to get headlines with stupid comments to draw attention to self. cheerleader is wrong word for one, motivator would have been much more appropriate and less condescending. Sure I get frustrated by some calls, but your can't argue he is a great leader. His guys love playing for him and respect him. There are probably around 28-30 other teams in league who would love to have him. Big deal he does have some questionable challenges and on occasion poor clock management, that hardly makes him a bad leader. I loved Terry as a strong armed tough QB, but he is a crappy analyst, and has created more negative controversy over the years in Pittsburgh with his comments and refusal to go to events and so forth. And the comment about McCarthy over Rogers is pathetic. Rogers could win in Cleveland.
the guy with a league MVP trophy, and 4 superbowl title had 15 minutes of fame? geez, dont act like a lot of people dont share similar sentiments for Tomlin for reasons that have nothing to do with personal beef with him.
Here come the people that think i want Tomlin to fail
I think that the real and fair way to evaluate the list of greats is by Coach and QB combinations. IMO, Gibbs is the most under rated coach in history. Three super bowl wins with three different QBs, none of which are in Canton.
Until last night I had Harbaugh/Flacco ahead of Tomlin/Ben.
Tomlin is certainly not perfect, however we won't be able to really evaluate him until Ben retires. Or if he sticks with Ben if Ben is clearly over the hill. I would guess about 4 more years.

Asked by reporters how he felt about Bradshaw’s critique, Tomlin answered, “What do I know? I grew up a Dallas fan. Particularly a Hollywood Henderson fan.”
Thomas “Hollywood” Henderson was a Cowboys linebacker who famously insulted Bradshaw before the teams met in the 1978 Super Bowl, saying that Bradshaw “is so dumb, he couldn’t spell ‘cat’ if you spotted him a C and an A.”
Tomlin added that he found Bradshaw’s comments about Tomlin being more a cheerleader than a coach disrespectful, although Tomlin didn’t have a problem with Bradshaw saying Tomlin is not a great coach. Tomlin said he thinks for a coach to be labeled great, he needs the résumé of a Bill Belichick, who has won four Super Bowls, or a Gregg Popovich, who has won five NBA titles.

You know we are all pounding our chests after that Blatimore game..saying to Bradshaw.." Hey Terry, how do you like Tomlin now " But truth be told...what Terry said is still mostly correct...Tomlin is NOT a very good Head Coach. I mean yeah we won Sunday. But in reality...was that final play call a good call ?..I say No way. I mean I remember two years ago in the Super Bowl, Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll was destroyed by the media for that play call down at the goalline. What IF Antonio hadn't gotten the ball over the line...game over. And we don't even have a chance at tying the game.
But with 14 seconds...shouldn't the proper call be to see if Ben can find a open man in the endzone ? We could have easily had 2 plays there, and even if they both were unsuccessful...we still would have had time for the kick. Okay like I said YES...we did score. But it still was a bad play call...Period.
And Tomlin in the past had done less with more then any other Head Coach I have seen. He has failed to prepare his past teams against HORRIBLE Oppents..and we lost. Only to lose out on securing a Bye seed, or failing to make the playoffs period. I mean YES you can say Tomlin has been a successful Head Coach. But what does that have anything to do with being a Good/Great Head Coach ? Answer...nothing.
Is Tomlin a GREAT coach? No. The comparisons to Cowher are tiresome. He wasn't great either. They are both good not great. In that sense, Bradshaw is correct. Even Tomlin said so.
Does Tomlin do things that frustrate me? Yes. Does he make the best decisions? No. Is he just a cheerleader? No.
Who would you want to replace him? McCarthy? Carroll? Payton? Hairball bros?
I say let his career finish out then rank him appropriately. But, I think the cheerleader thing was off base. Terry's entitled to his opinion but he's just an old school grouch who doesn't even visit the Steelers like other former players do (Franco, Swann, Stallworth - part owner, Blount, Mean Joe, Rocky, Tunch and Wolf of course, Woodson, Bettis)
I'm not saying I would agree with it but...If come week 1 of the playoffs...if we lose to Miami in Pittsburgh...me thinks plenty of fans, even here will be re-thinking that lets keep Tomlin statement.
Loved what Ryan Clark said about Bradshaw saying McCarthy is a great coach. McCarthy has 1 SB appearance. That's it. He won that game but hasn't been back or even to the conference championship game since. Tomlin has better stats than that already. Even Sean Peyton has 2 championship games on his resume, plus the 1 SB. Carroll has 2 SB appearances, puts him ahead of McCarthy too. None of what Bradshaw is saying makes any sense.
If we were going into the playoffs with Bryant, Heyward, and a completely intact and healthy roster....expectations should be through the roof. He has managed a roster with a couple of the most explosive players suspended, and a shit load of injuries whide also having a lot of quality guys going on IR for the season.
He still may not have Tuitt and Green for the first playoff game. When you do the math, that's a large percentage of your starters out, and many of your best players. Add to that the number of rookies and second year players and you begin to understand how much of this roster has turned over in the last couple years. It really is impressive coaching.
If they do make a deep run, he should also receive a ton of credit for the job he has done.
I am not talking about this year. I am talking about the seasons past where Tomlin has clearly failed to get his team ready against a vastly inferior team. And that has happened many times. Just a factual reason I was stating to justify that Tomlin is not a great, or even a good coach.
Even so....he has never had a losing season. Even when the organization kept all the older players together to make a run at another super bowl after the 2010 season. Once all those players became a liability on the field, the team had to retool on the fly, adding draft picks and inserting them into the starting lineup and filling the roster with young players. To have that kind of turnover and not have a losing season is very impressive. Having Big Ben definitely helped a lot, but it's impressive none the less.
Every year there are teams that are loaded with talent that end up going 6-10 or worse. Tomlin has never allowed that to happen in Pittsburgh, and the team is on the rise under his leadership.
That's all I'm saying.

Anyone else notice that he just "unleashed Hell" in December?![]()
