Wow - can they do that, under NFLPA rules and the CBA?
Patriots are looking for his cell# ….

Congrats to the Ravens for this.
Now let's hope Goofdel gets canned. Will it happen...No, but I sure hope it's the beginning of the end. TMZ can get the video and the NFL can't. Then they send out their goons to say the 2 game suspension was just. Pshh. What a joke the league looks like.
I think Goofdel is on fire, where is the fire brigade???
Now, with that being said, does anyone truly believe this claim? After drawing heavy criticism, Goodell wrote a letter to NFL owners, saying, "I didn't get it right." He also wrote: "My disciplinary decision led the public to question our sincerity, our commitment, and whether we understood the toll that domestic violence inflicts on so many families.
Sorry, I'm not buying it...TMZ Sports released a video showing him punching his then-fiancée in the face in an Atlantic City hotel elevator in February.
The NFL says it never saw the video until Monday.
https://twitter.com/ESPNNFL/status/509049100156030978JUST ANNOUNCED: The NFL has indefinitely suspended Ray Rice based on new video evidence becoming available today.
They can cut a player for whatever they want. Even if they just don't like him. I don't think there are any grounds to protest it in the world of non-guaranteed contracts. Suspensions you can protest, but this is simply cutting ties, which they're allowed to do.
No, it's obvious horseshit. The casino said the NFL had seen the footage during the original investigation. I sure hope Goodell gets what's coming to him, but somehow I think all that $$$$ means the owners have their blinders on, and they're the only ones with the power to do anything about him.
See you Space Cowboy ...
Media is calling BS on the Commish not knowing what happened in the elevator.
Great, now he'll cry some more about the DA not fully cooperating with the league. Gee, do ya think you could have went to the hotel directly and asked for the footage they had, if that was the case (and it wasn't)?
Video of Ray Rice punch releasedSaid league spokesman Brian McCarthy regarding the video: "We requested from law enforcement any and all information about the incident, including the video from inside the elevator. That video was not made available to us and no one in our office has seen it until today."

Guess Roger didn't have enough leverage with TMZ. Cat's out of the bag now and forced him to levy an indefinite suspension and the Ravens to cut him.
Roger's made a complete debacle out of this whole domestic violence policy. Listen to the players for once.
Do NOT disrespect the TERRIBLE TOWEL. Ever.

The NFL could be lying about whether or not it's seen the video but that's an incredible risk if they get caught. Think it's unlikely.
So, TMZ got a hold of it, but the NFL couldn't? Chidi, Chidi, Chidi...
The Ravens I can halfway believe, since they were deferring to the NFL as far as discipline in this case goes. But TMZ posting it to the world before the NFL ever saw it? Not buying it.
And considering that the dude has FUBARed one disciplinary decision after another since Spygate, I know what I believe. This is a classic case of CYA, IMO.
What a moron. What did he think that video was going to show? Them playing patty cake, and her slipping and hitting her head?
Phony bastard (Goodell) has set the league up to be sued by Rice for his own initial incompetence.

If they say they didn't, even if that's true, don't believe they had no idea what was on it. If there was anything on that video that would have put Rice in a more favorable light his defense team would have made it public long ago.
"A man's got to know his limitations."
Flacco is pretty much screwed unless Bernard Pierce or Justin Forsett can play at Rice's pre-2013 level. If he doesn't have a solid RB, he plays like dog crap
