I dont know why Texans waited this long. Mallett knows O`Briens system, but i dont expect him to start first few games.

And they messed up for both teams and Mallett. I believe if they done this trade right after draft, Patriots would end up with at least 4th rounder, Texans would get Mallett trough minicamp and training camp and give Mallett every opportunity to succeed. Mallett has been shaky this preseason, but sure is better option than Landry right now.

Would have been a better deal in April or May when they could have had him in for ll OTA's all of camp, and preseason.

I would've gladly given up a 7th round pick for Mallett to replace Landry Jones any day.
