Love getting the Thursday game over early in the season. Love the late bye. Love finishing with two games at home. Love the prime time games away; would prefer all home games be 1 o'clock starts.

"I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest. If you can't take it, you shouldn't play"
-- Jack Lambert --
Complete homer post, but I think we stand a good chance to be 5-1 or 6-0 to start. I think (or hope) Mitchell goes "Ed Reed" on Cam Newton and picks him more than once. Baltimore May be the only loss.
Ron Woodson says the Steelers will go at least 11 & 5. With a good draft, health and no lethargic playing, they should do well.
Three home games in a row Weeks 7, 8, and 9.

10-6 record from my view. Should be enough for a playoff berth in a relatively weak AFC. The 4 straight losses will have this board going apeshit for sure, but that's what I see happening.
LOL There is no-way-in-hell I'm going to predict any kind of win/loss record this early without seeing draft, training camp, contracts and many other aspects of the team's outcome. Man, let's not forget how this team constantly play's down to opponents on the home field and away. And let's not forget year after year them losing those 'sure win' games. I do like the schedule, I do wish the BYE week was alittle earlier, but all in all, if everyone stays somewhat healthy and plays to their ability, this could be a pretty good season. Go Steeler's.
Without going game by game, we should sweep the Clowns and split with the Rats and Bungholes. That's 4 wins.
Dog and Beth are the only tough out in the NFC South, and we have them at Heinz. Call it 3 wins.
We should easily beat everyone in the AFC South except the Colts. But we'll find a way to screw up against the Jags or Thumbtacks. 2 more wins.
I see the Chiefs coming back down to earth a bit and I like our odds against Rex and his three-ring circus. Chalk up 2 more in the W column. I'll go with 11-5.
Right now I'm not going to predict which specific games the Steelers win or lose. Way too early for that. However, in order to get back into the playoffs I think the Steelers must go no worse than 7-4 before their Week 12 bye.
Hard to say in April what the outlook for the season is, but I have a better feeling than last year. We don't really have any killer games on the schedule, the rest of our division is on a bit of a downward swing, and overall I think we've gotten better so far in the offseason. If we can make it through the first few weeks with no debilitating injuries, and Munchak helps even half as much as we're hoping, I like our chances. If we pick up some contributors in the draft too, that's a bonus.
See you Space Cowboy ...
It's April, we need need stuff to discuss, so why not make a prediction?
I predict that we're going to play 16 games and whoever scores more points in those games is going to win. Boom.
While I agree it's too early to make a win/loss prediction, I am actually excited for the first time in, oh, close to a decade about the OL. Munchak is a HUGE upgrade over the "Email Porn King," Kugler (who more than likely would have been canned if the UTEP HC job hadn't come along), and Bicknell (who was a complete disaster).
Sept. 7 Cleveland Browns.- I'm going to go on a limb here. The Browns come out of the gate and surprise the Steelers on opening day. Message board (Me included) goes into meltdown. First loss to Cleveland at home since 2003. Steelers lose 24-16.
Sept. 11 at Baltimore Ravens (Thu)- In an equally surprising development, the Steelers fresh off the shocking home loss to Cleveland, beat Baltimore 20-17.
Sept. 21 at Carolina Panthers, 8:30- Tough, hard fought matchup. Steelers D comes to life for a game and holds the Panthers out of endzone. Steelers win 23-9. One TD and several FG's by the Offense.
Sept. 28 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1- The Steelers don't mess this game up. They win 30-16.
Oct. 5 at Jacksonville Jaguars, 1- Jacksonville always gave the Steelers fits. This game is no different. Steelers prevail 16-10.
Oct. 12 at Cleveland Browns, 1- Steelers avenge their opening day loss and put a beatdown on Cleveland. 37-13.
Oct. 20 Houston Texans (Mon), 8:30- Steelers actually drop this one. O-Line can't stand up to Houston's Pass Rush and Ben gets sacked 5 times. Houston wins 24-13.
Oct. 26 Indianapolis Colts, 4:25- Steelers salvage this game, but still struggle on Offense due to more O-Line problems. Ben gets sacked 5 times, but manages to pull it out. Steelers win 20-13.
Nov. 2 Baltimore Ravens, 8:30*- Staying true to the traditional Raven-Steelers split. This one goes down to the wire. Baltimore wins this one on a last second field goal. Ravens win 24-23.
Nov. 9 at New York Jets, 1- It's the Jets. Steelers dormant run game springs to life and they win 27-10.
Nov. 17 at Tennessee Titans (Mon), 8:30- Steelers let this one go away. 4 Turnovers do them in. Steelers lost 23-20.
Nov. 23 BYE
Nov. 30 New Orleans Saints- Drew Brees and Ben R. have a shootout. Steelers win 37-30.
Dec. 7 at Cincinnati Bengals- Steelers Defense, desperate for turnovers, get 3 off of Dirty Dalton. Steelers win 28-13.
Dec. 14 at Atlanta Falcons- Another Atlanta-Pittsburgh Overtime thriller. Steelers rally from 28-14 deficit and win 31-28.
Dec. 21 Kansas City Chiefs- The Stunning "December Home Loss" that happens every year. KC wins 28-23.
Dec. 28 Cincinnati Bengals- With a playoff spot on the line, the Steelers hold serve and sweep the Bengals. 30-17.
Final Record: 11-5. Steelers win AFC North and get the #3 Seed.

Kugler wasn't the porn king. It was Zierlein. I thought Kugler did a decent job but he got called away to his alma mater. Last year's OL coach sucked.
But, I can't wait for Munchak to teach these guys how to stand up and not take each other out. Also, with the new free agents and soon to be draft picks, I think it will be an interesting season.
If you look closely he put the comma on the wrong side of the quotation . He really meant "Porn King", Kugler I really didn't Mind Kugler, but he never seemed to get them going enough, but Bicknell was truly bad

What I see when I look at this schedule
I absolutely hate playing hte same team twice in a month every freaking year and it's even worse when it's the last month. If we continue to play down to the competition we can expect some heart breakers against the Jets, Jag, Panthers, at 1 Brown game, Titans, and Bucs. Who knows what the season will bring, but if we clobber the weak ones early, it'll be a good sign.
PS as usual our D struggles with running QBs which could mean problems vs Vick and Newton, Manzel and whoever Jags draft
Merry Christmas
Ah OK. I misread it then. Kugler had very little to work with. The patchwork lines in 2010 were just ridiculous. He wasn't a hof coach but I won't blame him for all the suckiness in his term. I mean having to sign an over the hill Flozell Adams and letting Max Starks go and then bring him back with nobody else to sign and having a rookie center with an often injured Willie Colon and a bunch of below average talent behind that with all the injuries. Not an easy job but they did enough to get to the Super Bowl. Not enough to win though.

While I admit to being a complete homer, and I always feel optimistic this time of year, I feel even more so this year. I think after 2 mediocre (at best) seasons, these guys are hungry. We are young, with just enough veteran influence to kick some nasty into the young guys. Ben, Troy and Ike should be walking these kids past the 6 Lombardi's every single day and wearing their rings in the cafeteria, especially in front of the newest FA additions. They came here to win a ring. Well, then....show them a couple and feed their intensity. Rings that were EARNED with total dediation and teamwork. Peezy needs to stick his nose right into their faces and tell them how soft they are. He can stick his ring their faces, too. Earned by keeping Pey Pey on the grass. And Munch needs to get anything he wants. Anything.
I really love the moves we've made so far. Not splashy but solid. Can't wait for the draft......and then hope and pray it all comes together perfectly.
