Makes sense, Dwins. Nice work, hopefully the FO is thinking along these lines.

Trade back multiple times like New England used to do and like Cleveland did a few years ago, yes, smart idea

not everyone will agree , but what needs to be considered is depth of the drafts those trades where made vs the depth of this one ...

this being the deepest in my lifetime its an unfair comparison and liken to apples vs oranges debate if ever there is a time to try and accumulate selections its now ... couple that with our gaping needs it doubles its importance

I suppose this draft couldn't have come at a better time considering our needs. Hopefully they pick wisely.

Re: My answer to our roster vacancies and draft plan

I can see the logic in your plan Dwins and I would love to trade down multiple times.

The beauty of this draft is the talent that will be available in round 3. I am really struggling trying to identify realistic options in the 2nd round that present good value and scheme fit for this team. Your scenario of having 4 3rd round picks is exactly what I would covet.

Personally I would love to trade down once in the first ( 3 to 4 spots) and target Kyle Fuller. Then I would trade back up a few picks in the 2nd if one player was still sitting there around the 2.5 mark, Jordan Matthews.

    Using your layout:

    1-20 Kyle Fuller CB
    2-30 Jeremiah Attaochu OLB
    3a Martavius Bryant WR
    3b Yawin Smallwood ILB
    3c Devonta Freeman RB
    3d Will Clarke DE
    4a Jared Abbrederis WR
    4b Arthur Lynch TE
    5a James Hurst OT
    5b Isaiah Lewis SS
    6 Derrell Johnson OLB
    7a Willie Snead WR
    7b Shaquille Richardson CB

That's tough with that many picks, with the last 4 -5 hitting the practice squad.

using the players I suggest I do not see more than 2-3 hitting the PS , its all subjective though as there is no way of knowing how well they translate to the NFL until they actually attempt it all we have to go on is what we have seen as collegiate's and try and adjust our expectations vs bigger /stronger/faster athletes against them ... its a daunting task that is far from an exact science or there would be no busts in the league

Nicely done, Dwins. To me, your plan makes the most sense. Question is, will Colbert agree? History says no, unfortunately.

Have been a card toting member of the trade back club for a long time. We may differ a little on who and how many, but trading back for at lest 2 or 3 extra picks just make sense to me.
