Steelers' Bell better be made of iron

Glass half empty: The Steelers tied for 27th in the NFL in rushing yards in 2013, the second-lowest total in franchise history. Only four teams managed fewer rushing yards.

Glass half full: Three of their best running performances came in the final three games of the season.

Half empty: They have just one halfback on their roster under contract beyond March 11 who has ever gained a yard with them.

Half full: That halfback is Le'Veon Bell, who displayed the kind of ability later in the season that had prompted them to draft him in the second round last year.

So, can the Steelers count on the kind of ground game club president Art Rooney II long has wished for them? Or will it continue to be something they cannot rely on in 2014?................

Illusionist Kevin Colbert and his assistant Mike Tomlin.

This season is going to be magical.

I'm hoping they sign Starks coming in for a visit Tuesday. As a UB alumni, I followed him through college and he was underrated then and would not have gone as late as he did in the draft had he not missed the majority of his senior year. Green Bay owes that last Super Bowl run to him, imho. Without him stepping up his rookie year, that team doesn't even make the playoffs. He can catch the ball out of the backfield, is about Bell's size (maybe a little less weight) and ran for a career best 5.5 average this past year.

I would be happy having him. He played well against us and has very few fumbles.

Starks cancelled his visit to Pgh. Going to re-up with the Packers for 2 years.

No worries though, the Steelers are bringing in Felix Jones and LaRod Stephen Howlings for a visits this week.

Gee can Isaac Redman be far behind?
