half the time is soft , seems unmotivated at times , the occasional flash that he gets it but those flashes are not nearly as frequent as you would expect from a 4 year vet , Chargers made virtually no effort to retain him ( should speak volumes as they know him as a player best ) ....

hopefully John Mitchell can change him and the light comes on because like it or not he is ours now but I am not going to hold my breath for it to happen

My reaction to this will be solely dependent on the contract terms. If the cap hits are reasonable, the signing of Thomas does not prevent adding additional talent along the defensive front and may turn out okay. If the charges are such that it means they have to start him, then that is not a good idea.

Maybe Terrance Cody would have been a better option?

Now there's a guy who's accomplished almost nothing besides having three jersey numbers in four years. Maybe we're just looking for depth and a what-the-hell chance that he figures it out in a new setting, but if we're actually counting on it, I'll be pissed. Honestly, we could probably just pick up someone like that in the middle or late rounds of the draft.

Something tells me we're not going to move on Cody regardless. We passed him over twice in the draft, which leads me to believe we just didn't have a very high opinion of him, and likely still don't.

woods had just 54 snaps in our 2-6 start ....

woods had 168 snaps in our 6-2 finish ....

3 times as many snaps led to 3 times as many wins over same 8 game spans

so woods was not part of the problem , but perhaps a small part of the solution
