Definitely not surprised.
I was pissed about this draft.
We needed offensive linemen in 2008.

Someone send him that football he fumbled in the SB.
Gutless. Punk.
Definitely didn't have "it". Had all the physical tools, but just didn't have the emotional and mental fortitude to last in the NFL.
What a waste of a 1st round draft pick.
Not enough self-discipline, selfish, not a galvanized personality, did not understand the larger picture and his attitude was clouded with misguided opinions that did not benefit anybody.
All Defense!
Now he can write for that hack job hippie website Huffington Post full time.

LabRat0116 Game_Time a minute agoSteelerNation needs to acknowledge this fact that although a player maybe the most gifted physically (in size and athleticism), if he does not posses the heart and soul of a true Warrior, he is completely useless! ie......what-the-hell is Mike Adams doing on this team ?

Maybe he can hang out with Barry Foster now and talk about how football was too just so boring.
Yes, which goes to show that the draft is still largely a crapshoot. You can't measure a player's heart or desire like a 40 time.
And I still think Sweed's confidence was completely destroyed through Tomlin's mishandling of his situation. I don't have many scathing criticisms of Tomlin as a coach, but I do believe he mishandled Sweed badly. Vince Lombardi's genius as a coach came partly through his ability of knowing exactly when a player needed a kick in the butt or a pat on the back. IMO, Sweed got a kick in the butt when he should have gotten a pat on the back.
This. Mendy did have a couple of good years as our starting running back. I felt he was never used the right way when he was with the team. I don't completely blame him for the fumble though. David Johnson completely whiffed on his block which allowed Clay Matthews to get a good hit on Mendy.
Not that it wasn't already "official," but this pretty much seals the deal that the Steelers 2008 draft...worst in team history and I'd put it up against any teams as worst ever...lol

Should have drafted Duane Brown that year, a pro bowl tackle for the Texans.
