Goodell indicated the competition committee will look at possible rule changes, but those changes would not address hits like the one that shelved New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski on Sunday. Proposals are more likely to be centered on hits like the one that took out Miami Dolphins tight end Dustin Keller. Keller was hit while in the act of catching the ball.

2014 cant hit low somebody might get hurt ....
2016 cant hit them at all somebody might get hurt , just pull the flag off their shorts ......

now I am all for making the game safer but at the end of the day this is football , if you keep taking away from the game before you know it all you have left of the game is the name only ....

sure we want players to be safe and have a long career but injuries are part of the game itself and impart why they are paid so much money to "play" a game 99% of us played for free as kids , granted none of the people playing against us was 350 pounds ( well except the one kid that lived down the street ) but he couldn't catch us anyways .... at some point you just have to let them play the game to much thinking takes the instinct away from playing and that is a very important aspect of the game

This "game" is already three hours of burdonsome bureaucracy, cover your butt calls by the refs, and tedious waiting while some numbskull has his head under a black tarp. They should wear some kind of exoskeleton to help protect the players and also identify areas from which to grab and tackle. Anything beyond those areas is a penalty. Of course, you change the name because it is no longer football, but it is something the league can do to make it look like they are doing something.

2015+1 day. Many fans now realize that this is Rugby rules for tackling and have been for decades.
2016 People still get hurt. Hines Ward proved correct. If you want to stop devastating and illegal hits, remove the helmets (and pads).
