Got me interested and I looked it up last night. Yep, 1 year. Wouldn't surprise me to see him sign the same next year with us.

I don't blame him for that. He was outstanding as the short yardage/goal line guy and quickly showed that he's not a starter. I think the coaches kind of failed him here. I know that in order to take up a spot on the 46 dressed personnel a player should have as many qualities as possible, but he was money in those situations and we sort of took that away from him.
Oh well. It's all history now.

I think you're right. Not sure if I'd blame the coaches, or if it was his decision to lose the weight, though. Either way, I did like him in short yardage before he lost it.

Yeah, I never thought I would be glad to have Felix Jones. But for some apparent reason, he just fits.

I didn't really care either way. One thing I can say though, it seems like Mendenhall was a lot more talented than Jones, or at least, a very different runner. Jones however, seems to be a much harder worker.

I think when they gave Dwyer the ball on Sunday and he picked up the first in a Redman-like short yardage situation, it sealed Redman's fate.

I wonder if things would be different if Dwyer failed in that situation. Probably not, but we'll never know.

You could very well be right. I was pretty shocked at that run too, it looked like he was shot out of a canon. When did he get speed?

Probably right is what I would say too. I don't think this had much to do with Dwyer or anyone else beating him out for the job; it had to do with Redman being completely unproductive this season. Actually, counterproductive is more like it. There are heroin addicts who have done more this year than him.

Yep. He was a valuable player prior to this season. He really did a number to the Ravens in 2010.

He really added nothing of value this year. He was good as a backup/situational guy for a few years, but when even that starts to go ... yeah, you got nothing.

IMO, that means they like the stable of Bell, Jones, and Dwyer. With LSH coming back next year, if he is at all the same as he was this year, I think that's a RB stable we can be happy with. No, it's still not the best, but it's good enough to put our focus somewhere else, unless a deal falls in our lap.

I agree. When he put his head down and hit the pile, you could expect him to push for a couple yards every time. Wonder why we never thought about flipping him over to a FB? He's supposed to be a good blocker.

yeah, it looks like losing that weight to get quicker on top of the injuries took him backwards. redman was never going to be able to run away from anybody, but at his previous weight, he was one of the best short yardage specialists in the league, as well as a great blocker. And what a play against the ravens in 2010

I wish him the best of luck, but it's about time. He had no business beating Dwyer out of camp. At least the mistake has been corrected. This is the best backfield we've had in several years.
