Bush Bashing... Will It Help Democrats ??

This stuff is gettin good now...
    ----------------------------------------------

Washington (CNN) -- While he's not on the ballot, George W. Bush is still vital to the midterm election as far as the nation's top Democrat is concerned.

President Obama has made a point recently to invoke Bush's name in what many say is a calculated effort to remind voters of the previous administration's economic policies, which Democrats argue led to the worst recession in modern history.

On Monday, the president told those attending a Democratic fundraiser in Atlanta, Georgia, that the GOP has not distinguished itself from Bush.

"They have not come up with a single solitary, new idea to address the challenges of the American people," Obama said. "They don't have a single idea that's different from George Bush's ideas ... not one."

Obama has been in office for 19 months now. It's now time he start fixing the economy and stop blaming his predecessor while simultaneously making it worse. Under Obama unemployment has risen, spending and the debt has skyrocketed to levels Bush couldn't imagine. Plus the recession started when the democrats took control of congress. I really can't understand why people favor Obama's policies over Bush's, Obama has made things worse

This is the same dumb ass who, while now invoking his predecessor's name in a negative light so as to try to garner up support because he knows damned well he's a one and doner - continued a host of Bush policies that he abhored during his campaign. I swear to God the guy is a bonafide KOOK.

The Republicans don't need any new ideas. Cutting taxes and cutting spending is what is going to get this country turned around. Bush got the cutting taxes part right, but not the cutting spending part, and the latter is why the deficit exploded during his tenure. Obama not only has put the spending on steroids, I believe he is going to allow the Bush tax cuts to expire on January 1, while piling on more taxes from his health care plan. If that happens, the economy right now will seem like paradise in comparison.

No, it won't help one bit.

Democrats have had the Senate and the House for 4 years, and Obama has had almost 20 months, of nothing but one catastrophe after another.
Obviously this is not working, the entire country is against each other, we're virtually near a race war when it comes to politics. If you "don't agree with Democrats, you're a racist" Nothing pisses me off MORE than that.

Obama has outspent the country, the only people who want this to continue are the "non-contributors" or "no-liability voters" His poll numbers are in the toilet, the only people who still approve, are color blind.

He has proven he has no idea how to the run country, god forbid if we have another tragedy, he might have the whole government go on vacation.Look at the fact, that not ONE single Democrats is using Obama in their re-election campaign. Even BUSH was campaigning with Republicans. The end is near, quite frankly, in my lifetime I have never seen MORE of a reason for impeachment. This guy is completely clueless.

When will the people start blaming NObama and stop blaming Bush, maybe after the 30th month ? When in doubt , the Dems always throw out Bush's name .

Snowball's chance in hell will this help them gaining votes from me. I am already sold on who I am voting for. If there is one thing that both candidates have in common for the federal office posts I can vote for this year, they're both Republicans. It's overdue for a Repeat of 1994. That's about the only chance Obama has at getting a second term. Blaming Bush now is a one way ticket to a President in denial. As XT said, Bush did what he should have done on taxes, he just didn't do that with spending to. If this keeps up Obama will not only lose congress, but also the presidency in 2012. If I am him, I am praying to god that the Democrats lose control of congress. It has meant good news for the Incumbent in the next election.(Refer to 1996)

I guess to stop blaming Bush is not one of the changes he was talking about. He has to talk about Bushes polices, he has none of his own.

These political discussions are missing Vincent.

Although I don't usually agree with him, but has anyone else noticed he hasn't posted in awhile??

    I hope he's OK.

At some point the Dems have to start owning up to something, this spiel is getting old. BU BU BU Bush wont work forever. Obama is one hell of a campaigner though, Im sure this is just a strategy to try and remind everybody how much they were against Bush (or how much they "thought" they were against him)...one problem, Americans are starting to realize that Obama/Pelosi policies will just not work. November will be a rude awakening for the Obama administration.

Well, that assclown W is releasing his memoirs next month which will put him back in the spotlight. That isn't going to help the R's cause...I think Obama owns the economy now based on all the major legislation he's signed, but W and the Frist-Hastert braintrust destroyed the GOP brand name. If it weren't for that, the R's would be able to capitalize a lot better on voter dissatisfaction with Obama. But if the D's can remind people why they tossed out the R's they can stem the losses.

That ship sailed a long time ago. Bu Bu Bu Bush NEVER WORKED with me. I already know for a fact that I am ready to help return Pennsylvania's open senate Seat back to the Republican Party. I can't stand all of the Democrats who keep saying IT'S ALL BUSH'S FAULT! They forget that they have the keys to congress and they need to own up. Otherwise November 2, 2010 will be either just as bad if not worse then November 8, 1994. Right now, If I was a betting man, I'd be more likely to believe it will be worse. Worse then any American could ever imagine.

Vinny is just fine. I emailed him last night and got a reply back today - he's involved in a couple of ventures and his time has been pretty much consumed with those endeavors. He'll be back soon.

I don't know.. It could help if he is able to shed some light on the decisions he made. Besides, I think there are many, many people who voted for him that wouldn't do it again. He ran on the promise that it would be America's government and I think people are already sick of the way he does things.

I honestly believe that Obama is a one trick pony. Screaming change will not work when it's you administration the voters whan to change from. My brother is a hard core Obama man, but is now asking questions about his health care program, and several other moves he has made. I think his base is shrinking and will continue, unless something amazing happens.

The Democrats' message: Vote for us or it's a return to Bush's policies.
The Republicans' message: Vote for us because we're not Democrats.

The majority of Americans felt the country was heading in the wrong direction under Bush. And the majority of Americans feel we're heading in the wrong direction under Obama. We need some real leadership. Until then, we'll continue to vote for the lesser of two evils.

This current economy can be blamed as far back as Mrs. Clinton (Aka Mr. Clinton)

I agree somewhat with this statement, but sooner or later Obama has to claim ownership of the office and not just the title, and say the buck stops here. ( My favorite Democrat said that.)

I don't see that happening, my friend. It's much easier to blame his failures as a POTUS on his bu, bu, bu. . . .predecessor.

A good analogy (this being a football board) would be a second-year coach. The team imploded in the previous coach's final two seasons, especially the last one, so the fans can understand a bad 2009 campaign. But when the team keeps losing in 2010, the fans are going to start to question whether the new coach can turn it around. And if the team is still losing in 2012, the fans will be calling for the new coach's head.

Obama said "the buck stops with me" in dealing with AIG. But in the same breath, he still managed to blame the Bush administration. :rolleyes2:

Pelosi was on some cooking reality show, Obama on the talk show. The Dems are coming out of the woodwork to try and get people to know them/see their faces to get support.

I hope it does not work.

The economy under Bush was going pretty well until the housing market crashed. I still believe the dems deserve the majority of the balme for that. Hence to me the economy's current state is on the Democrats. And Obama took a tanking economy and is in the proccess of making it considerably worse. I hope the voters are smart enough to get off Bush's back and realize that the Democrats socialist agenda is what's killing our economy.
