If this was Ben (again), we'd all be talking about how he is due his day in court. He's not guilty until he's proven guilty.
But because it's not a Steeler, and especially because it was a Patriot, we all want to jump to conclusions.
I have no idea if he's innocent or not but I'm not going to make up my mind after hearing 10 minutes of the prosecutor talking.
As soon as I heard the Patriots released him I knew that murder charges were coming. They obviously had an inside source and knew what was in the works. And I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that. In fact I applaud them for it. But you know damn well it's real bad for Hernandez if the Patriots let him go that easily.

Ben was never charged with anything. They have to have suffiecent evidence to make the charges they did. Did anybody else get arrested? The other two involved? Or are the singing like chickadees...........
And it has nothing to do with him being a Patriot*. I'd be saying the same thing if he were a Bengal..........
O.J. is still looking for the real killer.
Not enough to say he's guilty though. This isn't about suspension. Do we know for sure of what Hernandez said on tape? No. Just because the prosecutor claims something doesn't automatically make it true. You don't listen to the guy for ten minutes and be able to draw a conclusion without even letting Hernandez have an opportunity to defend himself.
This trial is going to last awhile. There's no need to make up our mind after ten minutes.
At least it wasn't Gronk. Gronk is my favorite non Steeler in the league. What a beast! And I mean that in the best possible way. Look at his game's to touchdown ratio and I think you can make a case that he's the best player in the league when healthy.

The Boston Marathon suspect hasn't been convicted yet either. But I'm not going to wave the pom poms for him either.

Of all people, Steelers' fans should realize the most how dangerous it is when you're presented with just one side of the story.
If you just take all the evidence against Ben without anything else, he looks pretty guilty.
Hold on to that soap Aaron!

Gronk wouldn't hurt anyone... except maybe himself in a drunken escapade. Hernandez was always a punk. It's meaningless to say this in hindsight, but I always had a gut feeling that Hernandez was eventually going to get himself into trouble. I never dreamed of murder charges. He was a very good TE. Better than most people think. Gronk's numbers will likely suffer in his absence because Hernandez was great at drawing coverage. But good riddance It's easy to accept when you remember that there are things more important than football.
Did Steeldawg hack Chidi's account?

Excellent article on the situation.

Nope. Just saying that rushing to conclusion is incredibly reckless.
Being charged of a crime doesn't mean you're guilty in the same way being accused of a crime doesn't make you guilty. Yes, a charge is obviously more serious but not an admission of guilt.
Ben's case was an allegation. There was no proof a crime had even occurred. A dead body is pretty good proof of a crime. It's just a matter of assigning guilt.
Hernandez will have his day in court. He's a millionaire. The lawyers will be crawling out of the woodwork. He will have more than a fair trial. "Innocent until proven guilty" is a restriction on government power. It doesn't mean you can't think someone is guilty. The cops obviously think he's guilty. Public opinion only becomes a problem if it influences the legal process. I don't see that happening here.
I'm not saying a crime hasn't been committed. There clearly has. But like you said, it's about assigning guilt and everyone wants to automatically put it on Hernandez after just ten minutes. That's unfair and frankly, irrational.
It's not going to affect the legal procedures. I'm fairly certain of that. That isn't my concern. He will get his day in court, like you said.
But to me, people are associating being charged = guilty.
Nothing farther from the truth.
No one's saying he doesn't deserve his day in court. But the Patriots walked away for a reason. They're taking a 12 million dollar cap hit by releasing him now. They're not doing that on a whim or because of rumor or innuendo. There's solid evidence indicating guilt. It's not irrational for a layperson to believe Hernandez is very much involved in a capital crime.
"A man's got to know his limitations."
How would the Patriots know he's guilty? I don't blame the Pats getting away from someone who puts such a black eye on the organization. That doesn't mean he's guilty.
All I'm asking is can we wait more than ten minutes and one day before saying he's guilty? Why is that so hard?
"A man's got to know his limitations."
perhaps because nearly every team in the NFL has a security team that has former FBI and or State Police investigators working for them and they normally have a very good working relationship with the Local Police departments and friends in those departments that trickle down information to them ....
that may not be proof positive of guilt or innocence that is up to a Jury of their piers but it is first hand insight
This case is still pretty fresh. I really don't think at this point, anyone has been able to put all the pieces together. Especially any outside sources that aren't working directing on the case.

I literally had a friend say this to me on facebook,
"Oh there's no question he's guilty"
How can anyone make up their mind so soon? My God, we're as bad as the media. Wanting to be the first ones to make up our minds and create a storyline. There's no reason for it.
I think it's safe to say they have a boat load of evidence against Hernandez which they won't reveal at this time. I wonder if anyone else inNorth Attleboro destroyed their phone & security system the night of the murder, had the house washed down the next morning and was caught on the tape walking around the house after the murder, with the gun which is the same caliber as the casing found in aarons car.....which killed Llyod. I don't think this will be a long drawn out process. Sloppy, stupid and senseless.....hang him after the trial.
what little we know is a LOT and it all points in only 1 direction , sure and singular thing could be considered a coincidence but when you pile them all up that is one hell of a lot of coincidences and some of the evidence IF what has been reported is accurate ( the shell casing per example ) is only explainable by Hernandez being at the scene of the murder ( since 1 was found inside his rental car ) Hernandez was in control of that car late into the night with Lloyd inside alive sending texts of his own ...
Hernandez cell was also at the scene of the crime according to what we have been told .....
Hernandez destroys his own cell phone and hands it over to authorities in tiny pieces ...who does that ???
Hernandez destroys his home security system ( or tries to anyways ) who does that ???
Public surveillance systems also put Hernandez and Lloyd together in the wee hours of the morning ....
Hernandez is pissed at Lloyd texts messages show this .....
Hernandez vehicle is seen leaving the Park moments after shots are fired ( the body discovered several hours later ) and its the man that was with Hernandez at that time text messages show that as well 5 min prior the shooting was last text ......
video of Hernandez pacing in his house with gun in hand ......
house cleaners then scour Hernandez home the next morning ....
top it all off with the fact that he has shown prior the propensity to use a firearm against a human being in the past
any one of those things could be dismissed by themselves but add them all up and put them together and the jigsaw puzzle shows you who the killer is .......
That is all from the prosecutor's side of the story! That's my point. You're listening to the guy that is going to make everything sound like he is guilty. And that's all we took from that.
It points in one direction because we've only LISTENED to one side of the story?
I have no idea if he's guilty or not. It obviously does not look good for Hernandez right now.
But to make our claim based off of this? Come on guys. You're a fool if you think you know enough of the story to draw a conclusion after ten minutes.
Chidi's got a point. If I were Hernandez, with all his financial wherewithal and resources and I knew I was guilty, I would've bolted as far away as I could get and not stayed locked in my house until the cops came calling. It's also not like the cops have ever not seriously botched an investigation, particularly a high profile one where the pressure is on to press charges against someone as quickly as possible.
I would like to here the defenses side. Not saying I think he is innocent but we haven't heard his story
