man.... what a piece of shit..

On this week's edition of "The Rich Eisen Podcast," Eisen passed along a version of the story from Warren Sapp, who was a teammate of Russell's on the Oakland Raiders. The coaches would send Russell home with a game-plan DVD loaded with plays and ideas to study. Suspecting that their bonus-baby quarterback was skipping his homework, the coaches slipped in a blank DVD one day. When Russell returned, he reportedly said the game plan looked good to him.

Maybe he really did watch it. A blank DVD would be completely believable for a Raiders game plan, especially when Lame Kiffin was coaching.

They should've sent the DVD home with him at the bottom of a bag of Big Macs.

If you have that little trust in your QB, why is he still on the team? Line him up at NT.

Have the three years away from the game led to an epiphany, or is Russell's latest comeback merely a cash grab?
I'm assuming this is a rhetorical question. Ten bucks says when he either doesn't get picked up by a team or gets picked up but washes out in camp that he joins the NFL class action concussion lawsuit.

This doesn't surprise me. It was often reported that he was one of the last to arrive and first to leave. He didn't want to put in the work, he felt that he didn't need to and his status as a first round pick with that ignorantly huge contract would save his job.

The Eagles did a similar thing with Randall Cunningham years ago with the same results. Except it was Super 8 film and the OC put a tab in the reel and when Randall returned the film the tab was still in place.

With Cunningham it was truly a shame, because if he had the commitment he could have been a great one and the Eagles might have won a Super Bowl during his tenure there.
