Has Dwyer been given a chance? The running game's problems have to do with the O-line. There are no holes or consistency.
I'm fine if they pick him up, but with his history of injuries what good will he do standing on the sidelines in street clothes absorbing what little cap room the Steelers have?
Hater = Realist
if being named the starter and starting several games last season isn't a chance I just do not know what is .... this is the NFL you have to raise your level of play so you look good regardless of what you have around you or someone else will take your place ... I do not think the line play was that god awful last year . no it was not great but we have had worse ... Dwyer has not solidified his place as the starter , he had the chance to do just that but didn't ... he is just another guy on the roster at this point and the fact that they did not grant him a high round tender shows the team does not look at him as the future either and if they did , Bradshaw would not be in town right now either ....
I too am concerned with Bradshaws ability to stay healthy , but there is no denying his talent to play the game when he is healthy ... I would have no problem with him missing a game or two and Dwyer stepping in with Redman they are capable of that sort of thing but not an every week starter its just not in them from what I have seen ( and I was a HUGE Dwyer supporter to get more reps , he just did not prove deserving of keeping that job IMO ) he showed flashes of greatness but they where to few and to far between IMO
I hope we can pick him up...it's an improvement over mendy.
I like bradshaw alot, if he can stay healthy hes a beast. If we dont have alot of money to spend and hes cheap, I think he is worth a shot. We cant rely on dwyer and redman for a running game and are we gonna trust a rookie to come in and tote the rock? I say take a flyer on him draft a later round rb and let him learn the ropes.
.UPDATE: NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Thursday night that Bradshaw left his visit with theSteelers without a contract, though the team remains very interested. The Steelers will touch base with Bradshaw in a little bit when the running back is healthier, a source informed of the Steelersthinking told Rapoport.
Typical Steelers. Some other team could end up swooping in and signing him to a contract.
In other words, we're not gonna sign him.
I don't think anyone is going to sign him if he's walking around in a boot.
Does he have suddenness and glide?
haha , doubtful in that walking boot .... when he gets it off perhaps , but when will that be ? and will he be the same player ???
a deal on the cheap would come now while he is still not ready to go IMO ( you are assuming the risk he may not play a full season ) once proven healthy I am not so sure you get him on the cheap ....
I get the joke, but in all seriousness he is more of the workhorse back that the fans, who had that particular criticism, seem to want. His longest run in the only year he played all 16 games (2010) was 48 yards. In the past two years his longest run was 37 yards. So, I doubt we'd see the pattern of -1, -3, -2, 80...
