The worst part of it for the Raiders is that Carson Palmer's contract is counted in the live money! for now...

Maybe in this case it's just trying to give perspective to a reactionary fan base?

If you count what we're paying Woodley, our dead money is more like $15M, then $20M next year.

Seriously, that guy needs his own hashtag. #woodleysucks

He had a bad season last year. But he was on the short list for DPOY through the first 9 games of the 2011 eason before he tore his hamstring. According to Ike Taylor's workout guru Woodley wasn't doing the correct exercises to address his hamstring. This is not to be confused with not working out enough or at all. Anyway supposedely from what I've heard LaMarr has taken account of what he's been told and hopefully making the neccessary changes to his offseason workout regimen to correct the problem.

Woodley's not so old that you would think that he couldn't recover from an off year when you factor in that it was mostly injury related.

I guess my point is that it's premature to write this guy off. Instead of hating on him maybe show a little patience? It wouldn't surprise me even a little if Woodley puts himself into the argument for comeback player of the year in 2013.

If Woodley loses 30-40 lbs of that fat wallet gut he got last year I have no doubt he can still be a great player.

C'mon, you know me better than that. Patience is for Buddhist monks and weenies. I'd much rather just hate on him until he does something to prove me wrong.

I'm still not sold on him as a solid player overall, though. Maybe it's just coincidence, but a lot of his performance drop-off also correlates pretty closely to when Harrison was out or not at 100%, leading me to wonder whether he's just an average player who's benefited a lot from playing his whole career opposite a better guy who draws most of the attention. It could still be injuries ... or it could be that, which would be much worse.
