    Pocono flat track time! :)

From a mechanical engineering perspective, this track poses very unique challenges in adjusting the correctly, as the 3 turns are all totally different. My buddy Jeff Burton was the fastest in the last practice, so I'm hoping that success carries over to tomorrow.

Lots of people don't like Pocono, but I've driven it enough in simulations to know how truly difficult it is to be fast there, and it's really enhanced my appreciation of it.

    Go 31!

jimmie johnson almost kills elliot sadler (thenk God for the HANS device) and absolutely destroys 2 competitors racecar in the process as he deliberatley punts kurt busch into the wall.

he is supposedly the greatest driver ever now that he has finally won a road race, but the dude cant drive for shit. ive seen 80 year old blue hairs with better commons sense behind the wheel.

unfortunately NASCAR will never suspend him, so i can only hope he take a lick as bad as the one elliot took today.

i havent seen an engine completely ripped out of a car in a ling time. (idiot douchebag)

greg sniffle stinks up the field in the last 20 laps and wins one for the "cat in the hat". been a long time since he was in victory lane.

hornish cant catch a break. penske drivers always win at pocono... his time is coming, rain or not.

i cant wait to hear jimmie whine how punting kurt into the wall ruined his car and make the handle go away.

Not to defend Johnson, but that was as much Busch's fault as his, if not more. He'd been calling on the radio for Johnson to bumpdraft with him on the straight, and he turning towards the car on the inside for some reason when Johnson touched him. They were doing some weird side-drafting stuff all day that I don't quite understand--- something to do with the new aero this year caused by the little sharkfin thing, I'm told.

Anyway, that was a scary crash Sadler was in. Thought could have easily been fatal, were it not for the HANS device. Pocono needs to fix that horrific area of inside wall sooner than later.

the problem is there are 3 things jimmie johnson doesnt know how to do-

    1. bump draft
    2. complete a single race at a restrictor plate race w/o causing atleast one "big one".
    3. quit crying

Jimmie Johnson Feels Bad About Causing Wreck, Says Kurt Busch Doesn't Like Him

Jimmie Johnson expressed regret over causing Sunday's big crash at Pocono – a wreck that could have seriously injured Elliott Sadler – but refuted Kurt Busch's claim that Johnson "drove straight through" the No. 2 car.
Johnson said Busch was "already wobbling" when the failed bump-draft occurred and added, "I certainly feel bad" about the incident.
"I am glad the 19 (of Sadler) is OK," Johnson said. "I understand he took a heck of a hit. Last thing I wanted to do was cause a wreck or crash the 2 or anything like that. I feel bad about that but we were all just racing real hard down the back."
Told of Busch's comments, however, Johnson said Busch has never shied away from making him look bad.
"Kurt isn't very fond of me; he never has been," Johnson said. "I think when he has a chance to take a shot at me, he will probably do so. But (the wreck was) certainly nothing intentional and if he would like to talk about it, I'm more than willing to talk about."
well gee, jimmuh, i guess when you wreck someone more than 20 times in your career, they arent gonna sing your praises and toss flowers in your direction like hendrick nation does.

jimmuh needs to remember even his own teammates hate him, and think he's a wreckless dumbass who shows no accountability.

That sounds like something out of Top Gun.

    "You..... are dangerous!" ~ Iceman

but in the end, THEY finally made amends. Unlike Jimmy, who will probably always be his own "wing man".

I'm glad a Roush driver won, but I would have prefered to see the restart shortly after the pits with closer to 30 to go. There would have been more "potential" drama with some of the pit decisions that didn't play out from when it did finally go green. Oh well.

Elliott Sadler: Pocono Crash the Hardest Ever Recorded

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/news?...adleroconorash

Update: Sadler says NASCAR officials told him his head-on collision with the inside retaining wall at Pocono Racing on Sunday was the hardest recorded in the history of the sport, ESPN.com reports.
Recommendation: NASCAR doesn’t make public the G-forces that drivers endure during in-race crashes. However, the sanctioning body did state that this was the hardest impact ever recorded by one of their in-car black boxes. That would mean that Sadler’s crash topped Kyle Petty’s 80-G crash at Bristol in 2003.
ouch! he was on sportscenter yesterday looking good and ready to race, just a little sore. he openly admitted with a slight smile that he is very lucky to be alive.

w/o the HANS his skull woulda snapped off his spine just like dale sr. kudos to nascar.

OVER 80-G's... That's insane. You're right. Kudo's to NASCAR for instituting the Hans Device. They sould take some time to have some of these track owners "soften" some more suspect walls too.

Yea that is hard to believe that he is still alive.
